with all these GOG games i bought, i haven't noticed until now how TERRIBLE the quality is compared to the original games. i mean seriously WHAT HAPPENED, the first red flag i got was when i bought the GOG version of harvester (which is a sick game please buy it) and the quality was absolutely horrible. if anyone can shed some light as to why this is and how to fix it, please let me know,
the one on the right is the original quality

Have you tried changing the definition of ScummVM?

i have, but whenever i put it into full-screen it suddenly looks compressed
I'm by no means a graphics junkie and I don't care all that much about things like having the sound exactly like the Rowland MT-32X Plus sound card or the EGA graphics version, so all I can say is that the games are legal to purchase again and totally playable and enjoyable. I absolutely understand how someone who has played the game back in its day would want to play it according to some nostalgia they have towards the title, but I, for one, am glad to at least be able to play the games at all in any sort of legal way and knowing they are playable and look pretty much the same. To me, it sounds like you're just nitpicking -- you're entitled to nitpick, yes.

Toonstruck was never even sold in my country, all I could do back in the day was hearing about it and hoping that one day I'd be able to pirate it. So, yeah, I'm just glad I'm finally able to purchase it and own it and *play* it.

Can you be a bit more specific?

What exactly is different?
In ScummVM I prefer the following settings:

gfx_mode=opengl_nearest
last_fullscreen_mode_width=1920
last_fullscreen_mode_height=1200
aspect_ratio=true

Just edit the toon.ini in the Toonstruck directory and add the lines above under [scummvm]. Don't forget to change the resolution values (1920 and 1200) to match your native screen resolution. With aspect_ratio=true the game is displayed in the correct aspect ration, with aspect_ratio=false the game will be stretched to fill the whole display. Ensure that the aspect_ratio entry is not twice in the ini file.
