Ancora niente vero??
I noticed that GOG's IV-VI isn't using the latest build too. Sucks that I have to check every recent GOG release if it's being updated before buying it.
It's unclear. The problem is with Gog, or Aspyr didn't provide a fix.
I have gotten a reply on my Ticket on this Issue:
"Hello,

Thank you for your patience.

Our teams and developer are aware of missing update for GOG.COM version of the game and are currently working on proper version fitting GOG.COM needs.

Unfortunately, I do not have any ETA that I could provide at the moment."

To me it sounds they are working on a Solution to Implement the Golden Pistols so you don't need a 3rd Party account.
But that, I admit, is only speculation on my part

The problem is, answers like these have been gotten already by other users since weeks ago, but nothing came, not even when the new update to remove AI-licensed assets was pushed to other platforms

The Golden Pistols things is otherwise purely opt-in from what I can gather.
Even recent Bethesda titles like DOOM + DOOM II and the like require signing up an account to bethesda.net to access all features, and these have been published and updated with little to no delay, so there's no GOG-wide ban against third party services if they are opt-in only

Something happened is my guess
While it's more than 2 weeks now, sure, please let me share some perspective from a full time worker with little children:

Two weeks pass like nothing and I guess, especially, when it comes to software and also quality checks and release processes, on the one hand it could be released at any time, sure, but on the other hand these processes can easily take a lot of time, like one or two weeks more, by just little interruptions. I'm not really happy about not having the patch available, but I'm also not concerned in any way.

Guessing if something might have happened... so, what might this something be?

Maybe Carl is on holidays, or Julia is on sick leave or whoever is working on it.

I was just preparing a request on the aspyr support page, but happily found the notice here and will not steal their time, by sending another request. (even if, for sure, it's different teams that are working in the support and in the patching department)

Just my additional two cents.

Well, more like two months :-P
If the patch will definitely be released, but they need more time, then I will wait. It's good to know, at least some information.

We never wrote that GOG couldn't have delays or their team being overwhelmed, if you read a few messages from before I myself stated that there could indeed be a delay due to excessive workload or something similar, and other users did the same

It's just that we're being left in the dark, kinda like Fallout 4's next gen update that took nearly a year to come over to GOG

If a staff member could simply leave a message in this thread, stating if there's actually a timeframe for the update to eventually come, or if it's not coming to explain why within what NDA allow, we can close down this thread
Well, it's been 2 months now, it's safe to say GOG will never get the patch.
We should FLOOD Aspyr with emails and messages on social media
.

2 Months since Patch 2, yes.
But only 1 Month since the Hotfix for Patch 2.

I know not really better either but you see the point.

Also no need to flood them with Emails. 1 is usually enough.
I hope it comes, I was thinking on buying the game but i dont like having games without proper GOG support...
I followed up with GOG support on the issue, and this is the reply I got:

> Based on what I was able to learn, the patch for the game was delivered to us it could not be published due to fact that it was not working properly. We are currently waiting for the fixed version of the patch file from the developers of the game and as soon as we will receive it, we will then test it and publish it as soon as we will confirm that it is working correctly.

This would mean, that the ball is currently in Aspyr's corner - which is even worse, because it means it can't be fixed without Aspyr devoting additional funds to the trilogy, which I am not sure they have budgeted at the moment.

That's pure nonsense.
All they have to do is to remove PlayFab!
Removing it fixes all of the reported issues with their latest patch, for both I-II-III and IV-V-VI.
It's would be a 5 minute job for them!

The problem is that if they disbanded their team which was meant to work on the remasters because they pulled funding since they apparently were not satisfied with sales, it's not really surprising there's none really left that knows what's going on or how to do it, regardless of what GOG pressures them to do or not

At best they may eventually entrust one of their interns to take a look of it...eventually, or if we're lucky they might contract again one of the original developers to sort it, again, who knows when
