Do the GOG versions of Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider II include the "expansions"? Both games were re-released with "gold" versions, including more levels (Unfinished Business for TR1 and The Golden Mask for TRII). I never managed to get my hands on these versions back in the day, it would be great if the GOG version included the extra content.
I'm also wondering the same thing. It's not that big of a deal for me if it's not included. But it would be a nice bonus :)

It seems they are not included. Apparently you can download them for free here, but I did not try installing them yet:

What about Tomb Raider III: The Lost Artifact?

That was a standalone expansion, so only GOG and Ubisoft can give us that (well, that or or illegal methods).
Haha, I wanted to start this topic myself. Since GOG doesn't mention the expansion packs my guess is there is none which is a pity.

Interesting, thanks for the links!
My question for GOG is: Why didn't you put the Gold editions on?

I'm a bit disappointed, as you guys usually give old classics with the expansions. This would've been an instabuy, but since I've played the second two games numerous times (never the expansions though), I'll have a wait until GOG releases the expansions.

:(

Gog didn't put the Gold editions in because they weren't given the rights to the Gold editions.

Unfortunately, Gog's hands are tied by copyright laws, and what exactly the game company gives them the rights for. Yes, technically I am sure they could have found cracked copies of the Gold editions of the games and reworked those to get them working all nice and shiny like.. but if they were not granted the distribution rights to the Gold editions, that would be illegal.

And selling a game that they did not have the legal rights to distribute would pretty well much spell the end of Gog. Even if they didn't get shut down for it, companies would start pulling out because Gog couldn't be trusted.

I know this links, but I don't remember if this are fullversions or only demos. The URL says that these are only demos. But the site itself is talking about "fullversions". I think they are fullversion, I remember also that only the third expansion is that one which can't be received as fullversion for free.

Maybe it could be interesting for you. Unfinished Business was remade few years ago on the TR4-Engine as a free custom level:
http://www.laraslevelbase.org/download.asp?id=1741

Read this how to play custom levels:
http://www.gog.com/en/forum/tomb_raider_series/reminder_free_fan_levels_and_adventures

EDIT: Is maybe one of those a remake of the second expansion?
http://www.laraslevelbase.org/box_level.asp?art=all&Levelname=golden+mask&Autor=&suchen=search&h=%25&v=%25

For the third expansion I could find nothing.

As for Tomb Raider 2 Golden Mask there was a trick to play it as a standalone version. I think all you needed to have was a demo of Tomb Raider 2 installed and Tomb Raider 2 Golden Mask expansion pack could detect the demo as a full version resulting in being able to play the additional levels "for free".

As long as the first two expansions are available for free legally elsewhere, I don't have a problem with GOG not including them. At least they're out there.

It's more of a bummer that the third one can't be downloaded, but that's the reality of software licensing for you I suppose.

I don't think anyone asks gog for distribution of games without legal rights to do it. The question is, did gold editions were even considered during negotiations with developers? I think with gold levels for all three editions it would be superb package! But maybe GOG did whatever possible to bring them, just eidos or whoever it is who owns rights to tr1-3 were stubborn.

Anyway, I hope some clever ppl from tr community will find a simple way to add those levels to gog edition. That would be awesome!

According to Gog's people and their 'mission statement' they strive to bring us the 'most complete version' of the games.. so I'm guessing Edios/whoever was all "No, you get the classic editions!" or, perhaps, in the IP rights juggle, the rights to the expansions got lost in the aether.
I recently bought Tomb Raider Ultimate edition which was released in my country (Czech republic) about year ago.
It was quite cheap and it contains Tomb Raiders I-III with expansions, first six Tomb Raiders (I-III, the Last Relevation, Chronicles, the Angel of Darkness) are DRM free, only Legend, Anniversary and Underworld require DVD in the drive. In Poland it costs only 35 PLN (10 USD), so I guess that maybe is problem with worldwide rights or guys from gog wasn't trying as hard as usually they try.
They should add expansions and TR 4-6 and soundtracks and then it will be good offer.
