Does this game support 1080x1920 screen resolution (in-game option)? or do I have to use a mod in order to enable it??

thanks!

Check the start menu folder
GOG Games/Tomb Raider (4 or TLR I can remember exactly but you'll know).

You'll see the game icon and there should be a settings icon that takes you to a set up screen apart from the actual game. That should have the 1080 option you are looking for.

If this doesn't work let me know and I'll reinstall to see if I can find it and walk you through.

hi, thanks for your reply. the thing is, I haven't bought the game yet. The deciding factor of buying it or not lies entirely to the fact that if this game support 1920x1080 or not. so I'm afraid I can't follow the procedure that you told me because I don't have the game yet.

Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation does support the 1920x1080 resolution, but it will not have the correct aspect ratio. In order to get it working, you will need to apply an unofficial fix to enable widescreen support. On the other hand, Chronicles does have widescreen support, but you can still apply a mod to get the proper FOV. Most probably, you will need to apply additional fixes to correct issues like visible window borders.

In the end, both games can have the widescreen resolutions activated, but you will need to apply various fixes to get them working properly, which is often the case with many old games when they are played on a modern PC.

I wonder can you help me? Started to play this today, when I first launch it, it brings up the settings and whilst I can see the options to select for widescreen resolutions, when I have selected my own (3440x1440) all I get is a blank screen. I have to sign out of windows to try and relaunch however the settings no longer appear, going straight to the game. If I verifty the game files then the settings appear again. If I go ahead and lauch at stock settings (800x600 I think) the game will launch ok although I'm now playing 800x400 resolution stretched across a 21:9 aspect ratio which isn't very pretty as you can imagine.

My first question is, how do I get the settings to launch again? I can't seem to find this looking at the files in the game folder.

If I verify the game files again to get to the settings will I lose my game save data (I played right through the tutorial).

I'd happily experiment to see what resolution works if I can get the settings to appear again - I'd be happy to play at 1920x1080 or any resolution a bit higher than what I'm on really.

Is there a widescreen resolution fix for this game?

you should be able to find the separate settings program by either going to your Start Menu, GOG Games, TR 4 (or whatever it's called) or go directly to your folders and finding your GOG games there and the TR 4 folder which should have the entire game installation as well as the exe for the game itself and the settings. I don't have it installed right now so I'm kind of describing this from memory. :P

I have never run it any higher that 1920x1080, so I don't know if anything else will work.

As for widescreen, I think it's automated when you run at a WS resolution.

Thanks. I've checked the game folders and can find no sign of a settings launcher. :-( Do you know if verifying game files will delete any progress made in the game? I'd be happy to play at 1920x1080 but I can't get the settings to pop up again without verifying the game files and I'm afraid of deleting my progress so far...

Let me reinstall it. That might take a while. I'll get back to you.

Bah. Have it running in 1920x1080 but getting crashes now. Are there any particular settings to enable/disable to increase stability. Should I leave it at 16bit or change to 32 bit?

Crashes every time I go to draw my weapon - I had changed it to the ' " key next to the enter button - must change it to something else to see if that works...

Edit: That worked - changed the key to draw weapsons and now its fine. :-)

Forgot how clumsy the controls on these original games were but it's coming back to me..

There are no setup icons. To modify the Tomb Raider Chronicles settings, you need to create a new link, in the tomb raider 5 folder, with this path: "C: \ Program Files (x86) \ GOG Galaxy \ Games \ Tomb Raider 5 \ PCTomb5.exe" setup
This is default path, if you have a different one, put it before Tomb Raider 5 \ PCTomb5.exe" setup
