I already have these games from CDs a while back. I bought the GoG version hoping they'd updated the games to smooth them out. Plus I'm nostalgic like that, and the price was cheap so there's a lot of appeal in having the game readily-downloadable to any PC anywhere on the planet.
I originally played TR2 and 3 on PC, and the first game on PSX. Since I didn't try the original on PC, I won't comment on it. It seems to run fine, anyway.
The most noticeable problems I used to have on the CD are:
TR2: Windows borders on the FMV scenes (after getting them to actually play!)
TR3: Strange vertical line at the bottom of the home screen roughly 1/3 from the right-hand side.
TR3: In certain places like Thames Wharf/The Sphinx room at the museum, if I looked up or down the textures stretching off into the darkness would randomly flicker and adjust crazily.
Now I've got the GoG version and guess what? New problem appeared:
TR2: Audio seems to loop. That is any triggered audio event, be it music or lara speaking. A good example is at the start of the assault course at her home. She just keeps repeating herself the same thing over and over until I trigger a new audio clip.
Honestly it might just be my computer alone having this problem. I tried all the usual fixes including compatibility and user-made patches no to avail. What's the point in paying for a game updated to modern systems if you're going to end up trying to get it working anyway?
