Gunlock: I bought this pack (installer 2.0.0.7 of course) because Tomb Raider 2 was the only game from the series I haven't finished. After finishing the first level and playing a couple of minutes of the second one I can confirm that the sound problem is NOT solved. Cracking sounds throughout the whole level (not a regular thing, very annoying, especially when using headphones), looping music (when vultures attack on the wall the music loops endlessly). When I started the second level the cracking sound became even louder so I stopped playing. This audio problem only happens in TR2, I played TR1 and TR3 for over an hour and everything works flawlessly. Trying to change audio settings from the Start menu in Windows doesn't help.

Summing up - problem is not solved and I would really appreciate fixing it.
I don't get the cracking sounds. I find the looping solves itself momentarily when I restart the game.
too me the bgm doesnt play at all , just the sound effects , can anybody help
I have noticed that the looping sound problem described in the first post still remains unsolved. Long time ago I was asking GOG support for a solution. They suggested some alternative dlls and sound file swapping, but it didn’t work. Also – if I remember correctly – they told me that the issue only affects the game running on Windows XP, which I now know is incorrect. Have any of you guys found a working fix other than the one including CDs or CD images?

I have noticed the same looping sound problem too... And I have Windows 8... Can I get some help on this? I didn't see any patch that was suppose to be included in the installer either... thanks

edit: I do now see that I downloaded the 2.0.0.7 version but it is not solved... please fix... still unsolved

STILL unsolved. Anyone have a solution?
This still isn't solved. 'Peril' music from later levels is being triggered in early levels where background music should be playing. I'm also having a problem with the game appearing in a restored down box that won't maximise, despite tweaking the compatibility options for ages.

I've asking GOG for help... Fingers crossed.
As to that music bug (track from later levels), there's another thread where it has been discussed, I've given a solution which may help:

It seems the Mulipatch doesn't install 100% well on GOG release, I had to change one or two settings. This may be why the current installer still has some bugs.
A word on TR2's audio:

LooPINGAS usual I see?

The Multipatch fixes it so I recommend that. There is the windows border and bad view size though, and the Multipatch doesn't appear to work without the disk just now.

Good thing I have the disk from waaay back in 1997 soon before I first played it in 1998/1999 along with Tomb Raider 3. it's a little corrupt now or at least incompatible due to some bugs I found the last few times I used it. the Golden Mask disk 1 version appears a little more stable.
