Complaining of non-DRM games and platforms.
Now I have seen everything... OMG.
I have GOG and Steam, I refuse to install other clients and my favorite is GOG, the only platform where I OWN my games not just get a licence to play them.

I'm happy to see a GOG exclusive for once, it will not be a problem for me to see it on Steam too in future (just to let CDP make more money out of it, I'm sure it will be great).

P.S. Thanks for the Pre-download <3
But, you don't even need GOG Galaxy, All you need to do is buy it, then add it to your Steam library. It's not like it will launch another storefront like Uplay.
There's cost analysis as well.
I'm sure steam will take a cut...as Gwent is on Gog they probably (mostly rightly) assumed most of their player base already uses gog so the few who refuse to use GOG are outweighed by benefit of retaining the distribution platform cut/drawing people to their platform as an alternative.

(plus as they mentioned you dont actually need gog to play thronebbreaker)

I would say the same about how you act. While many, myself included, would prefer to have games all in one place, what that means to people is different. To me it makes no difference if the game is on Steam, Origin, GoG or fished from the seas on a ship flying a black flag. They are all on my PC and I'm not so technically inept that I can't find a game unless it's on steam.

What matters to me is the game and what actual platforms it's on, consoles, PC and Linux for example. Not that it's on a specific download service. You just come off like a petty customer who is looking for any reason to be annoyed and gets snarky when the service provider just states facts at you since they are good at their job and don't just tell you to fuck off if their service isn't what you are looking for.

So from the bottom of my hearth. Fuck off you literal bottom feeder.
My impression was that Gwent isn't on Steam because the multiplayer part was build on top of Galaxy. They would have to do an extra Steam version. And maybe the Steam and GOG customers couldn't even play with one another. Or this would be extremely complex/expensive to pull off. I mean they released all their other games on all platforms. But those were singleplayer games which didn't have this issue. Thronebreaker also unlocks cards for multiplayer Gwent, which also requires that all these games run on the same account. Please correct me if I'm completely wrong here.

KiwiEC: Why are you here my friend ?
Yeah, I want to know this, too. If you only purchase on Steam, why frequent a GOG forum? Smells fishy to me.
I'm a big fan of Steam, but I have had a gog account since the start. I'm really starting to like gog a lot more.

Purely because I was trying to ascertain if this title is GOG only, which sadly it is.

Liar. You said you only purchase on Steam. If you only purchase on Steam then you would check Steam; if it's available, you buy it, if not, you move on. You came here to bitch:

"I'm 100% with you on this, buyer choice should be paramount, no game should be on just one storefront. "

Tell that to Steam.
Is it just me or are the people getting more retarded by the minute.
They asked a simple question, they did it nice and polite.
What is the reason for the fanboys to totally loose it over this?

I came here for the same reason. I heard something pretty stupid about
a game, that i wanted to buy & did not believe that it's true.

What better place is there than the publishers store to look for facts?
Now i know that it was no joke & i'm kind of sad that i'll never play Thronebreaker.
Welcome to the club Travis !

I stopped counting the Steam-only games that I would have liked to play a looooong time ago.

Like someone said earlier, you can buy the game on GOG, download and install, and then register it on your Steam client (the converse being impossible with 99% of Steam games). Of course you won't get the updates automatically, you would need Galaxy for that or regulary check the offline installers page by yourself, but then you already have the Steam client, why not install another Steam-like client like Galaxy ? (Too Steam-like for me, btw)

And you're the one speaking about something stupid ? How many CDPR games on Steam right now ? And how many Valve games on GOG ? Not.a.single.one. Enough said...

Why punish yourself? You could just get it through GOG and play.... It is a really fun game that deserves to be played

Really, what is the problem?

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is on Steam now, so much for no plans to release.
Will the people get the gog keys if they buy it on the steam?
