I have the exact same issue.

The audio plays just fine. Sometimes the cutscene does play, but most of the time it just freezes on one of the first frames.
I did some updates to drivers and restarted just about everything, but it's still an issue.

Yeah, I'm not playing until I get it gets adressed in some way. Might just refund it until that time.

Have the same issue when start the battle with Colduel.. Try to restart and reboot many times, it`s not help(

I have the same problem. Strangely enough the cutscenes for the Gwent tutorial runs just fine and they are done the same way it seems.

I had the same problem and the only solution that works for me is lowering the resolution, in my case from 1920x1080 to 1600x900. Worth a try.

Throwing a mention here that I have the same problem - windows 7. Black screen, audio plays in the background. Sometimes it freezes on the first couple of frames in the introduction, but I get nothing at all when I start the actual game. I can see the captions move, etc. Just seems like the actual panels are missing :\
