MaridAudran: Hello,
"This War of Mine" is one of my favorite computer games ever, and probably my favorite "indie" title.
I shall give this a try, since no one has tackled your question yet. But, if someone else is more knowledgeable than I am, feel free to step up.
I will go into it, in a point breakdown format. These are from information that I've gathered.
- There is a new shelter available for play, which, I believe doubles as a scavenging location if not used/selected.
- There are no new crafting items, other objects or items in this expansion, except for toys meant for the kids.
- There are new interactions and dialogue involving the kids, and the kids will react to things that you do or events that happen. While I'm not sure, I believe there are new special events.
- You can select kids (just 1) in a custom game, but you can't change their character portraits. In the main "campaign", the adults and kids come in fixed stories.
- Mechanics and stuff are still the same. But kids add another dimension of difficulty, as they can't guard, scavenge or do several duties around the shelter, until you teach them (duties, that is) to do so. This means if your strategy is reliant on the skills of 4 people or rotation to manage hunger, tired levels and security, you are sort of down to 3, in a sense. On the other hand, if the kids are happy, they serve as a morale booster, which might help with depression and such.
- New endings after the game ends for the kids (and involving them).
