Good morning/afternoon/evening,

We have uploaded a small patch for Thief Gold. This patch is for version 2.0 of our installer, if you have installed the game using version 2.0.0.46 then this patch is for YOU :D.

Here's what's changed or added:

Updated miss16.mis.dml (thanks to voodoo47!)

We added both ddfix and no-ddfix versions to backup folder, for those taffers who prefer the game without NewDark.

Please note that this patch is best when used on a clean install.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns :D.

Update:

We have uploaded a new version of the patch that adds a hotfix for the Cathedral mission as seen here:

Thanks again to voodoo47 :D

Thank you :)
How important is "Updated miss16.mis.dm"?

I've latest TFix installed so I assume my install isn't clean or should it work right over?

if you have TFix, there is no need for patch.

Oh, ok. Thanks.
yes, as always, GOG updates are meant for those who do not use, and do not wish to use 3rdparty patchers (TFix in this case).

also, if you encounter any oddities when playing the NewDark version, post them here.

I just installed the new patch, it creates a link to the game in the desktop without asking.

Delete it?
Sooooo, this does what? I apologize if I'm being dense, but I beat the first mission just last night and I don't really feel like doing it again so soon. Do I need this, or will I be fine without it?

It looks like being a graphical and compatibility patch; I'd take a copy of your save game, patch, then see if your save still works. If not, reinstall the original version and play as normal.
it's essentially a fix for the Mage Towers mission, so if you are running the default GOG install without TFix, and still haven't reached that mission yet, you definitely want to install this. the rest is just file cleanup, nothing to be concerned with.

if you are running the previous GOG build, you can safely apply the patch, it has no effect on savegames.
Great. This is what I get for forgetting I asked a question. 13 hours later I am in the middle of the Mage Towers mission and I see that the patch addresses something in this very mission. Oh, well. Thanks for the replies. Hopefully I can make it through the mission without running across whatever problem the patch fixes. If not... Oh, boy.
none of those fixed problems are critical/game breaking (they fix AI behavior). a couple of stuck/non-patrolling AIs should not prevent you from completing the mission.

I never asked for help to deal with the link, it was just a description of a unwanted (I think) behavior.
Thanks for the suggestion, however, I'm sure that will be useful to many.

I was quite relieved to find that my fears were unwarranted. I got through the level with no problems. I actually read up a little on that level after my last post and found that some people experienced a glitch in the Air Tower where at least one of the elevators would not appear. I was afraid that would happen, but I got through without a hitch (well, as far as bugs go). Thanks for telling me, though, so I can stop worrying.
