Hi guys,

We have put up a small universal update for the first two Thief games.

These updates contain a bunch miscellaneous fixes, mostly dealing with some of the missions.

Thanks goes out to Voodoo47 :)

Also, his fixes are listed in his post here:

Thanks and happy thieving :)
Just curious, GOG's Thief 1/2 only has the NewDark patch right, or does it have TFix and/or Tafferpatcher included too? What's actually in GOG's version currently I guess is my question. Is it fine to install TFix/Tafferpatcher onto the latest GOG versions?

Here's all the info you'll need regarding TFix and/or Tafferpatcher:

Just look for Voodoo47's posts as he explains everything. Also, our version just has NewDark 1.21.

the latest fixup package resolves a bunch of original gameplay issues, and a few NewDark related problems as well. things like z-fighting, object scale, and a quite nasty orig problem with noisemaker arrows that would result in no arrows OR infinite arrows added to the player's inventory after the pickup. none of these problems will prevent you from completing the game, but they are still annoying and immersion breaking, so hey, why not fix them when we can, right?

both games have NewDark, and a couple of cfg tweaks to make it run better. T2 has a couple of mission bugfixes as well, these resolve mostly orig issues that were introduced by the 1.18 official patch. TG also includes a lite version of TFix - as mentioned before, running TG under NewDark is not completely trivial and some extra tweaks are necessary to make sure things work as they should (if you are extremely curious, open the dml files with notepad and read the fix comments). both games are still fully compatible with the community patchers (TafferPatcher and TFix, respectively).

You, TimeSlip, and a few others are the Batmen of the game forums. Thanks!
Now that is commitment. Thanks! :)
Hello.

I've attempted to install this patch on my GOG Thief 2 and the intallation fails. On the log it says:

Thief 2 - The Metal Age patch log
Incorrect version of: d:\GOG Games\Thief 2 - The Metal Age\cam.cfg
Incorrect version of: d:\GOG Games\Thief 2 - The Metal Age\MISS1.MIS
Incorrect version of: d:\GOG Games\Thief 2 - The Metal Age\MISS11.MIS
Incorrect version of: d:\GOG Games\Thief 2 - The Metal Age\cam_ext.cfg
Incorrect version of: d:\GOG Games\Thief 2 - The Metal Age\MISS15.MIS
Incorrect version of: d:\GOG Games\Thief 2 - The Metal Age\MISS2.MIS

Can someone help?
redownload and reinstall the game.
I was hoping for something less radical.

Can I keep the savegames at least?
yes, savegames shouldn't be affected.

jpasan: I was hoping for something less radical.
Likewise... I uninstalled & reinstalled (without redownloading) the game but still got the following message:
Incorrect version of: C:\*********\Thief 2 - The Metal Age\cam.cfg
that's why I said "redownload".

Yep. I just didn't think it would be necessary and therefore tried it the other way first, that's all. :)
has the native resolution been bumped up to 1024 768 at least?
