voodoo47: TFix 1.16 adds the USERMODS folder, just drop the files from Tin's mod there and they should be loaded on top of everything from TFix.
I did but I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to put into cam_mod.ini and install.cfg, I mimiced my earlier install and changed the from mods to usermods and it still doesn't work, it won't even work any of the enhancements (before TFix 1.16 the only issue was the sky, the rest automatically worked.
Hmm, was curious what the update was. I sometimes don't believe it when I read "by gamers for gamers" at other places, but I believe it here at GOG.

BTW, here's a site request feature for changelogs if anyone is interested:
http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/change_log

I think it would be nice if we had a news feed on the front page with the basic info, containing links to a page with detailed changelogs, or something along those lines.

you don't have to modify anything - as long as you drop the mod folders (FAM, OBJ etc) into the USERMODS folder, everything should work. the hires sky needs to be installed via TFix, as always.

to make it short, install ThiefG, patch up with TFix (leave all the mods selected), extract FAM and RES from Tin's mod into USERMODS, done. this works, I've checked.

I found a different forum where you posted a solution that helped me, specifically for tinv3. I dropped in tinv3 in my Thief folder and copied both install and cam_mod files and then it worked but now I'm back to the sky not working even after a restart.

All the mods selected? I thought Orgy's would cause compatibility issues with Tin's.

Fogging on/off
Sky Detail low/high

In thief gold. Wuuuuuut? Will sky detail affect anything on original missions without any crappy enchantments?
sky detail will have no effect unless you install the hires sky, so keep it off.

no, not anymore. and yes, modifying the ini files will break things, don't do that.

will have a second look at this when I get back from work, I suspect the mod has a nonstandard file structure (a very, very bad thing to do).

//yeah, still the ddfix overrides. how annoying.

Unfortunately I've already messed with ini files, that's why I mentioned them. Anyway, I'm going to see what makes the sky work on my older installation as I haven't touched that one except it uses NewDark 1.19 and TFix 1.13.

I uninstalled to try what you did and now the sky works but not the rest of the mod, haha. FYI, I used the tinv3 you uploaded on that other forum, this link: Tinv3

You posted it in 2012 1st October so it's possible there might have been more changes to the texture mod along the way but I read v3 was the last so I thought it would work.

This is how the ini-files, not touched by me, look like:
cam_mod.ini : "mod_path usermods+mods+mods\t2skies"
install.cfg : "resname_base .\mods+.\mods\EP\Thief1+.\mods\EP+.\patches+.\res"

In USERMODS I've 3 folders: FAM, OBJ and RES.

Anything I should do?

From my point of view, previous version of thief gold (with ddfix) was darker. More cold. Newdark version is colorful and bright. I'm right? If yes, how can i set the look of previous version?

Oh, i see backup folder :)

NewDark has a very extensive and fully commented config file.
Nevermind.

ok, I've completely forgot - there is actually a newer version of that pack that is TFix compatible, restore your config files to the default, get it here, and follow the instructions in readme (it works, I've just tried).
Good job sir!

anomaly: Just to clarify here - after installing this latest version (for Thief 2) what other patches or mods would still be worthwhile? I'm assuming this renders some of the patches in the patch thread obsolete, yes?

Any? All?

Cheers for any help!

daveG93: I would recommend Tafferpatcher, it has user-made graphical updates, a built in fan mission selector and some patches that fixes bugs that I noticed are still in the default GOG version.
Excellent, thanks for the info! And all the others who replied too. Much obliged!

Thank you! I'll try right away.

Finally! It works.

Question, this one is only 178MB and version 3 is around 298MB, how come?
