After the loading screen the screen goes black and I get this error message.

Error: Direct3d device driver does not accurately report texture memory usage. contact your 3d accelerator vendor for updated drivers

Is there anyway to fix this?
this is a known error and you can find the fix over on ttlg.com, because I dont imagine GoG will be able to fix this in-house....

GoG should be ashamed at releasing a game that 1. dosent work out of the box and 2. charging so much.

Hey man, I've been on TTLG for a while now... 2004 I believe, I just don't post a whole lot. It might be worthwhile to just link people to TTLG and the newest threads to fix the problems (and lets be honest, some of the sticky threads at TTLG have old info). TTLG has the answers, so rather than berate GoG and give ourselves an appearance of pompousness, maybe TTLG people should just link GoGers to the TTLG foum and welcome them to the community. The more people we can help install and enjoy the game, the more will visit TTLG. If we act impatient that we have to answer all these questions again, it'll only annoy people and drive them away from a fantastic game. Just post the relavent link.
You have a fair point, but my point's still stand. GoG should have correctly patched this game before release. All its looks like from an onlookers point of view is they and Square Enix are just making a quick buck.

if people want help with Thief they are more than welcome to wonder over to the ttlg forum, as you'll find most ttlg'r want be motivated to join this forum to help for a paid game that GoG/SE should be helping with!

Yes, we will update the build today with a fix for that.
