when I enter my inventory there is a chance that my game stops working. The game itself is running fine, but it just stops working and I have to tab out and quit... it really sucks.

iv only played for 1 hour.. anyone else experience this?
Yup. Everything else is running super smooth, but everytime i enter the menu or read smthng from my inventory the game has a good chance to crash.
Especially annoying since im doing a quest atm. that requires me to read a book for me to progress, and it just keeps crashing whenever i open it.
Ye its super annoying... I think its the same as mine, I does not always do it, but its a very high chance
Indeed, I've also noticed the menu (perhaps the bestiary in particular) will often lead to freezing crashes. Using GTX 970 with today's driver's.

I am having this problem also, the game randomly locks up in the inventory screen and I can't even close it I have to logoff to get rid of it.

My system specs are nothing out of the ordinary and other games are stable so pretty sure it's not my system.

Edit: I also have a 970 using todays nVidia driver.

Yep 970 with todays drivers. Now my game just crashed while i was riding.
First time though, until now it only crashed in my inventory.
The game just freezes and only ctrl alt del solves the problem.
I also had an issue where I would get a black screen before playing for 10-15 mins, but I solved this by running fullscreen instead of borderless window mode.

Happened to me in the bestiary too. Sucks, but at least it's not just me.

Same here, there's a chance the games locks up when opening inventory. I hesitate to open it now, I think I'll wait for a fix.

I also have a 970 with new drivers

Playing two hours with R9 280 here, everything's smooth, no crashes or issues... Around 40 FPS average.

Noticed it's much better to select LOW graphic presets and then manually move all the sliders to ULTRA (except foliage which is a bit bugged at ULTRA so I keep it HIGH). This gives me around 10+ FPS than simply clicking ULTRA preset (weird).

Same here. Game has become stuck three times now in the bestiary menus. Using a 980 with today's driver.
Yep, have the same problem. Game freezes when I enter the inventory. Happened three times already.

I'm also running it on a GTX 970 with today's drivers.
Other specs are:
- Intel Xeon E3-1231v3 @3.40GHz
- 16 GB RAM
- Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
Getting 40-60 FPS at 1080p on Ultra without HairWorks, by the way. When HairWorks is on, it sometimes dips down to 20-30 FPS in close-ups.

I hope they fix it soon. The game is awesome!

EDIT: Well, it froze during the first two hours, but after that I played six hours straight without any problems. Strange...

Played for about 2 hours then got freeze in inventory. Music continues but mouse pointer frozen. Had to alt tab and kill it with task manager.
Chiming in with the same. For what it's worth, I've got an R9 290 (current drivers), so it's not just an NVidia issue. Seems to have a chance any time I do something in the inventory or bestiary - selecting a different item, opening/closing books, whatever.

It does seem to have happened more since I ramped up the settings, but since that was also right about once I was getting out of the tutorials, I've obviously been spending more time in menus since so I'm not sure if that's related at all.

EDIT: Does anybody else have a controller connected at all when this happens? Once I removed my controller, it seems to have stopped happening. Obviously, this freeze is a little unpredictable, and I haven't really rigorously tested it, but I messed around opening and closing books for a bit and it's been good so far.

EDIT EDIT: Well, it seems less frequent, but still freezing in the inventory even without controller.

A couple of freezes also - once while trying to move an item within inventory and another time when trying to canter.

Had to download some programs to check my hardware temperatures, if overheating had caused the problems, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Ah well, I'm sure it will eventually get fixed. :)
