Today, after years of no issues at all, the Witcher 3 for some reason has suddenly begun to crash without warning. It started when, right [SPOILER ALERT] I saved Ciri and go back to the castle to prepare for the invasion. As I was walking through the castle, I came upon that one dude and other chick who wasn't happy that I didn't invite her personally. Just as I finish the conversation, the game suddenly crashes, with no "Sorry to inform you this game has crashed" notification or anything. Just crashes. Since that conversation is avoidable, I tried to continue the game by ignoring it after it happened three times, but then the same thing happened at the end of the war preparation meeting. Right now I've been verifying/repairing the game itself on GoG but its been stuck at Checking local files (0.0%) for about 10 minutes now. EDIT: literally right as I was about to post it finished updating and is continuing to go...I'm hoping this solve it.

Any suggestions while I wait to see if veryifying/repairing the game will fix it? Thanks.

Perhaps I can migrate save data onto a different PC, or a full reinstall worst case scenario? I really want to finish this game.

First things first. Do you use Galaxy? If so, either run the game without Galaxy, or at the very least turn off the overlay. Socond, do you have any mods installed?
I've come across this: https://steamcommunity.com/app/292030/discussions/0/133257324788833004/. It might help.
Like I said, run the game without Galaxy.
