Anyone have any leads on the m/k controls and pc ui?
It's like 2 days before launch and seems like its not really ready.

What makes you thinks so??
The modder/streamer Gopher, has played the game for an while with KB+M, while he was with other YouTubers at the CDPR headquarter. He said in his presentation on YouTube that it played fine and felled fluid. If fact - he was surprised everyone had to play with an controller, but respected the choice of his host..

So - I would not worry too much I think.. ;-)

Unlike darksoul, KB/M is a better solution for playing this game in my opinion, especially when playing insane mode. I've completed TW2 over 20 times on insane mode and I doubt that someone can use a controller to do so.

I like you just casually threw in that comment. Did you confront the Operator everytime?

Short answer: no.
I've been planning to defeat the game with many different builds or strategies, sometimes I merely figured the spec has some problems that needs to be reset, or simply not good enough for Operator fight. I did face the Operator about 10 times and maintain roughly 75% success rate.

Use alchemy build. Faceroll insane mode. Actually only a1 letho and a3 operator fight poses any threat on insane, maybe a2 eternal battle also. There very few things that can oneshot you on insane outside of you taking back damage, and you can easily reload if your health drops below 100% before you die.

Thanks but I never play ironman mode unless it's forced. That particular advice isn't what I would call legitimate however because the whole point with Insane is that you are not allowed to reload after one death, if you then find a loophole just before you die you might as well play on Dark to get the same difficulty but you are allowed to reload.

I've only played it through once but my next playthrough will be on Dark.

I never meant reloading after you die. I meant reload as soon as you get damaged, no matter for how much. Try to always pay attention to sounds to be able to react to monsters coming from back. Invest 2 points into reducing back damage. Go full alchemy build and use defensive potions. Most of the time nothing will be able to do enough damage to kill you, the only dangerous parts are begining of A1 (bad equipment, a lot of monsters), letho figth in A1 (he's quite strong for being so early in the game and the room is very small), eternal battle in A2 (can be tricky due to different gameplay), operator in A3 (very small room for mistakes, very high damage).

I also enjoy dark more, but I completed insane quite a few times before dark was released. I died mostly in the parts I mentioned above. The bad part about insane is that you can't backup saves without cheating. I made a tool a while ago to backup insane saves, but it could also be used for cheating the insane restriction of 1 death. Now that there is a dark mode I no longer need it, because I completed the game on dark for W3 import. I think this mode doesn't really work great for a save based game, especially when you need to import saves to later game. I enjoy playing hc in Diablo though.

While reloading after every hit is not cheating in my eyes, the loading times added overall would be too much. Progress is more important to me than challenge as well which is why I avoid ironman games. I think Dark will suit my just fine on a replay.

By cheating I meant backing up insane saves with RegKey. While it was the only way to move saves between machines and to save after reinstalling it was also possible to use that to restore game after death. Defeats the purpose of insane, but I think a lot of people did that. I didn't use that, but I was reloading quite a lot. The only place where I still died a lot (I think I died there more than 10 times) is vran operator, but it was easier in original w2 than it is now (room layout was a bit different).
For me challenge is as important as progression, which is why I played insane. But as I said that mode doesn't really work well in save based games, I find dark much better.
