Does anyone else think that weapons degrade too quickly?

I just repaired my sword, fought one bear and it is at 95% already. I hope there will be a way to tone this down in the future, it is really a bit excessive.

Yeah.. need to mod this.. it's quite annoying. I could understand this happening at this rate on harder difficulties but on the 2nd difficulty level it is very fast.. a few drowners and a couple of wolves and I am at almost 90%.. and the cost to repair isn't that cheap early in the game either.
I hope they bring an option to change it. A mod would also do, it is just not a very fun mechanic if they don't get the rate right.

After a "couple" of drowners and wolves, 90% is quite ok, isn't it? That's what? Less than 1% per enemy?

If it wasn't so costly to repair, I would agree with you. The game's difficulty should be scaled in all aspects not just simply mob hitpoints. I'm sure the cost of repair will be negligible as I get further into the game, it seems to be quite harsh in the early stages of the game is all.
Is there a penalty to the stats of the weapons per % lost, at certain break points (like 90/80/70 etc..) or you can't use it anymore at 0?
The game hints say that it will have an impact on the weapon's stats if the durability gets low enough. I haven't let any weapon go that low yet (mainly because I keep replacing them before that point) but so far getting down to ~55% doesn't seem to make a difference.
Look at your equipped weapon in your inventory, when selecting it there will be a red number beside it's damage values if the weapon gets weaker because of degradation. But don't mistake it with the numbers that show up when you compare a weapon from your inventory with your equipped one.

But especially early in the game it does not matter... I never repaired anything in the Prologue because you can smith better weapons and find/smith better armor before you really need to repair your stuff.

I think around 50%, it may be more, then your weapon starts to do less damage. I'm fine with the cost to repair, if the rate of degradation was a lot lower. It seems you have to go back to a blacksmith too often, or use the repair kits, which are definitely the cheaper option.
I would happily turn this feature off, it's just annoying and distracts from the gameplay.
I totally agree, it kills all the fun for me.

Crafted a new sword and it was already at %50 after a few fight?

WTF is that?

Well I could swallow it if the repair cost wasnt so high, but Viper Silve Sword died in a dungeon (in he middle of the dungeon) I had to use it all they way to the end of the dungeon, and durability hit %0. Repair cost is 100, only for single sword, fucking hell, my entire equipment is red, plus i degraded 2 more swords inside from the chest

It is like I am fighting with wooden sticks against steel golems.

This degrade level must be fixed. It must at least be cut more then half.

IT IS REALLY ANNOYING, ADVENTUREING BECOME HASSLE BECAUSE OF REPAIR COST, I EVEN DONT BLOCK/COUNTER AND DODGE LIKE A BITCH AND USE MIN AMOUNT OF ATTACK TO NOT TO DAMAGE THE FUCKING SWORD!

Sigh

So let me get this right, blocking and countering makes you a bitch? Using the main combat mechanics make you a bitch? Don't be a wanker...

yeah...
I think it's a great mechanics, in the first witcher I was kind of annoyed to not have any incentive to use anything but the main swords. Bashing the rabble of the wild with a rotten trunk to spare the good steel should feel rewarding.
