no update for me. till now....

I restart my computer to have a fresh start on gog, and the update shows up. The update didn't show until I restart everything.

Try go to game settings in GOG - manage installation - configure - and here you will have option to update to 4.0 version :) (U had to unclick "automatically update to the newest version", there I could select version 4.00.) ezz

so no replacement, if anyone still cares, on steam and GOG you can go back to 1.31/1.32

I get a 404 error. I am looking at torrents, right now.

Another needless worry (I hope)

The install was long 12 hours. And my only beef with it is they deleted the downloaded files. After the installation. I wanted to save them. Now I've got another 12-hour download. for a backup, or just zip this one.

Haven't played it enough to really comment. Just enough to see it worked. Slower loading. The view offset is really noticeable on a short wander through Novigrad. Interacted with Triss fine.

Now it's time to continue my playthrough.

Saves are not compatible with previous versions.
And cloud saves are still stuffed and don't work.

Bugger, do I start a new game or continue with the current level 48 Grandmaster gear and Toussaint knight's sword and armor, Geralt's knight armor, as well as Aerondight. Which is what I was playing through this time to try out.

Yeah sorry about that, i didn't check the actual links; i had already backed up the 1.31/1.32 installers before the update so i just assumed they moved those without issues.

Yep, down and running.

I did have the tick box in auto updates un-ticked. Clicking on the update file started the download.
I presume having a tick in the box would do it to.

From here 12 hours 3pm to 3am, from start to into the game. For 10 minutes then bed. Long day.

Well time to really try it.

Initially started fine after a 12-hour download.

Managed to load and run an old 1.32 save.

Then it started crashing. Maybe my fault changed the General.ini. Added the debug line

In the end I verified files twice.

And the second time I tried adding the 1.32 version settings in the General.ini and remarking the version 4.0 out.

Not a problem since. Why? You tell me, darned if I know.

I did wonder if the mismatch in items in the list of what Geralt can have torch, bombs, food. Has anything to do with it.
I have something in every slot. With a mask slot and one slot missing. I have two items with nowhere to go when the save loads.

In saying that I have loaded my last 1.32 save into V4.0 now. Save it again as a v4.0 and reloaded it. Without any problems.

But it just might be the good PC fairies are looking after me?

Seems my earlier worries were a wee bit over the top. But very coloured by Bethesda and Steam forcing the AE update on me. When I didn't want it. locking the game so it couldn't be played until I updated it. I held out for 6 months before killing the best mod load for SE I'd managed to get. And updating it. Now I don't play it, it is sucks.
Yep, got me into a right snotty.

I played 4 games Skyrim LE, & SE. Horizon Zero Dawn (3,141 hours)

The one that got me started on this genre Witcher 3 which was the first.
(v1.02 to v1.31 5,000 hours ( GOG seems to have lost this one.) v1.32 2,202 hours, GOTY 474 hours wasn't my favorite)

I've got a save. "Saturday, ‎6 ‎August ‎2016, ‏‎4:13:46 pm" Where I finished hammering Willis in Whiterun with the beehive glitch for hour after hour (netting $2,451,739). After I'd topped the game :-)

Came through Witcher enhanced, and Witcher 2. Good enough in their own rights. Played Witcher 3 (The cream of the crop.) Watched the first TV series. Then read the books.

Why am I writing this? I've invested a lot of time in the CDPR games. Particularly Witcher 3, it is a place you can go on an adventure holiday.
Once you learn how to run like hell from anything too big for you it's a wonderful place to spend some time in. Just wandering around.

The game world is beautiful. ON A FINE DAY! You can go fishing for drowners, hunting deer and rabbit's, explosive arrow are a bonus :-) The occasional hectic moment with a Griffin overhead.

I don't know if this is true. But I think I'm the first Witcher 3 tourist.

Visions of CDPR doing the same as Bethesda, coloured my vision.....................

So, my apologies to CDPR.

To all of you who took umbrage at what I wrote earlier.
You may keep it I have enough umbrage for all of you. And possibly some to spare :-)
