Did you install the patch manually and try to run the game directly from .exe?

Try that. You can download the patch manually by going to your account page and pressing the Witcher 3 "folder".

If that doesn't help use the method I described here to check your game files:
The "Release in X hours" didn't automatically update even before, only when you switched between screens in the client so it could refresh the UI.
If Restarting the client doesn't work for you than press more --> manage... --> verify/repair.
That should fix any corrupted game files.

Mine did the same thing and manually installing the patch said it could not find game installation. Clicking download arrow in the bottom left corner showed patch failed. I couldn't repair/verify either, the option wasn't available.

Setting up the correct registry entries fixed it. I tried importing the folder and also install with the files in place, it said it was verifying the files but obviously never bothered with checking the registry.

I posted the reg entries in another thread but here they are anyway ... obviously edit to suit your folder structure:

looks like the patch cannot find the install path. Did you at any point install the game / pre-load and then moved it manually to different folder?

Ah, mine didn't even try to install. Sounds like a corrupt installation. I'm not sure if you actually have the game installed in that location but it seems weird for it to be there. Maybe it's a permission issue.

I'd stop Galaxy, try moving the folder to C:\GOG Games\ ... start galaxy and click around until it thinks the game isn't installed. Change the Galaxy settings to point to C:\GOG Games\ and then click install. It should verify and try to update.

Worst case you will have the same problem as me where the patch can't find the install folder and you have to add the reg keys.

And you have checked you have enough space? ... just covering bases :)

OK, then you have the same issue as me most likely ... don't redownload ... I can't guarantee that will actually help.

You need to copy the reg info above into notepad and save it as something.reg ... changing the file locations to where you have the game. Then double click the file to add it to your regisrty. *big warning* you can break stuff doing this if you're not careful.

Here's a dropbox link witcher3-registry.reg ... you can right click and edit that ...

ugh ... it opens directly in the browser. You'll have to go "file" -> "save page as" and save the file to your desktop or something to edit it ... hopefully that helps

This would certainly work, or you can receive crash course in editing Windows Registry and change the keys posted by the user several posts above ;)
Thank you all for your help and quick replies, i very much appreciate it., i decidec to go the long route and uninstall everyting including galaxy. downloaded all again, and made sure they were in the right drive. Now all is well with the world again. thanks
