Well after 36 hours of downloading this at 0.2 MB/s it hangs at 370 mb to go on GOG Galaxy. So I figure I
will restart GOG Galaxy and it would save my progress and it would finish. Guess what that didn't happen
it kicked it all out and I had to start again from nothing. Anyone else have this happen?

A lot of people. Galaxy is beta and such behaviour is normal. 370 is not much, forget about them and do the following:

1. Get offline installer either directly from browser of via Downloader (better).
2. Install the game using this installer.
3. Import the game in Galaxy. Most likely Galaxy will import the game automatically.

Could I get link to this offline installer?

From the game page on GOG site. It consist of 7 parts, 1 .exe and 6 .bin files.

I tried that to begin with the 4GB files would not download fully. I would set one to download and I would come back
to check on it and it would appear tp be done but the file wasn't 4GB or even close to it. I wasted a half a day doing that.

The best for you then would be getting GOG Downloader. Then on the game page click "More"->"GOG Downloader links" and feed [url=http://gogdownloader://the_witcher_3_wild_hunt/installer_win_en]the link[/url] to Downloader. It will verify files in case of problems before continuing to download, that way you will not have to re-download anything.

GOG Galaxy is a complete waist of time and has ruined my experience with this outfit.

Recap of what i have done,

First thing I tried to download the 7 part install but the 4 GB files would not download fully.
So my connection is to slow to re download the files over and over and hope to get to get lucky.

Second I try GOG Galaxy and get to 370 MB to and stalls and there seems nothing you can do about it.
Restarted the client lost all progress had to start over. At this point 2 days lost and i start this post and this person tries to help.

I try GOG Galaxy a second time this time I think I got it but hell no it stops at 51 MB to go this time.

So now 3.5 days wasted 57 GB downloaded and I still don't have a game to look at.
Don't know what else to say but more negative stuff about GOG that I don't feel like typing out because
I have wasted to much time already.

Actually you can. Pause the installation, click "Clear" at top left and then add the link again.
In your case with not so much reliable internet connection, Galaxy is indeed not the best solution, not saying the worst. Go with GOG Downloader. If you've already gotten 57 GB some of the files must be alright.

You can find more information that might help you in this nice little FAQ. You'll find a complete file list and hash sums for them. Check against check sums and re-download broken files.

I went to install directory every thing in there had the DOWNLOAD FILE extension behind it so I did get something.
Then I fired up GOG Galaxy and looked of the verify files option and it was not usable (grayed out ) then tried the import
option it searched and the began to download the hole dam game again like there was nothing there I got pissed again
and hit abort and now its all gone. It erased everything


Well after some thought I think ill just go down a get a copy at the store and waist 60 bucks for convince and shit can
this GOG idea that I'm locked into with these keys I got with the 2 GTX 980's I bought.

The chances are you'll have disks with pre-load installer, so you'll have to download day-1 patch from GOG site anyway. It's only about 300 MB, but still you won't avoid GOG.

And before you spend extra look at this thread. You may have problems even with a retail version.
