Last night geralt got stuck in a crate. Loaded up an old save game but the game crashed during the load. Now today when loading the game the videos do not play, just black screens with (press space), and all the save games wont load, again just black screens. And this is with ALL save games. Have verified the files but no luck. Have also tried deleting the Witcher 3 folder in Documents, loading up the game but still black screen.
Want to try everything apart from reinstall as I only have 8gb/month mobile internet atm.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have a recent system restore point?

No she cannot. Last restore point was near a week ago and she does not want to do that if possible.

Does she have any other graphic intensive games installed & do they still play?

Yeah has Tomb Raider installed and it works perfectly. The main menu with Geralt sitting there appears and works fine but when continuing or loading a game just black screen. Regardless if the save was last night or a week ago.

If she knows someone close who has the setup files on harddrive, she could copy them on to a USB flash drive & reinstall the game.

Failing that, she could create a restore point now.
Restore her week old restore point, copy the whole witcher 3 directory to a flash drive & then restore the current state & copy the witcher 3 directory over.

Unless she has installed a lot of new software in the last week, a system restore would be quite painless.

So restore point did not fix it nor did uninstalling her copy completely and copying mine over. Strangely we can get past the black screen now, it just seems no videos are loading including those at the intro and loading screens. If we wait long enough can just press X or Space to continue. Also tried installing the new beta drivers for her 280x gpu and that did nothing about the videos. But at least she can play now I suppose.

Seem as how she can't see the intro movies anyway.
This might give her shorter loading times & the loading screen rather than a black screen.
