Hello, I am making this post, because the search function bugs for me, so I can not look it up here.

I am currently at the point where you (can) fight Olgierd von Everec. I am in NG+ and above the requiered lvl (though I do have upscaling on). Now I remember the fight to be tough, but I also remember that most of his attacks were either parryable or blockable. That means the red as well as the normal ones.

I even saw videos on youtube showing other players being able to parry/block his attacks. I have tried it over and over now and it is just not doable. I can not parry any attack. I can not block any attack. Nothing works. I have read on other forums that it is an issue with enemy upscaling, but I actually just want to know if that was intended.

Because I know that later on in the game, the same attack pattern is used by more than just one enemy. I am just not sure how one is able to do that. I deal about 150 dmg on him per hit (unbuffed) and that means I need about 15-20 hits to take of 5-10% of the first bar of his health pool (he has 3 health bars). I tried forever and everytime I am bound to run into a mistake sooner or later (often not my fault but just movement quirks). Keep in mind I can not parry anything nor block anything, so i just try to dodge all the time.

Is that normal?

Yes, this is normal, or at least it happened with me as well. It also happens on regular games (not NG+) with DM and level scaling.

One or two hits and Geralt dies. The only strategy that works is dodging and rolloing when necessary. Fights with rats, the djinn in Skellige and the Iris greatest nightmare are the worst with level scaling.

The good news is that I've not faced an enemy after this fight which gave me that much trouble. It also depends on your spec, rend is very useful in this fight as well (haven't tried it myself but saw some videos of it).

Thats the question is it not? Is that supposed to be normal. I know there are other encounters on Lvl scaling which are insanely stupid.
Like the rats, which are unbeatable with lvl scaling. Olgierd solo might be doable this way (taking ages, as I have nothing in combat tree this time around) but I can not see how you beat his multiple versions without parrying/blocking. Atleast not without trying for ages and getting lucky you do not get a bad positioning after a dodge/roll. Luckily I had no issues with the djinn
