After a couple of ball ache days, I've finally managed to get the game working again, but after trying to load up from my last point, it is stating that it can't because the save was from a previous version. Can someone please advise if I need to transfer files etc? I'm a wee green on exe. etc, but the thought of starting all over is cringe worthy to say the least!
Thanks!

are you sure it tells it's from a "previous version" (which shouldn't be a problem) and not from a "higher version"?
and what platform? i can only try to help for PC...

if your savegame is from a newer version than your actually installed game, it won't work. No way around it.
examples:
- you had the most recent version installed (1.08.2) had problems with it and did a fresh install to 1.06 -> your 1.08 savegames won't load
- you had problems with the game, uninstalled and used an older installer maybe 1.08 or 1.08.1 residing on your harddisk. before this it was automatically updated to 1.08.2
Hi,
My mistake, it is a newer version, so I've updated that. Saves load, but I'm back to what appears to be an across the board issue of crashing again.
I get 2 minutes in and for some reason, my system buzzes and completely blacks out and shuts down. I hear everyone else stating they crash to desktop!

I'm running:

2 x GTX 980
i7 -4790 @ 4.00GHz
16 GB
Win 10 Pro

I just dropped to Med settings, but no change. Boy this is killing all the fun and faith in the game!

Grim indeed!

What pisses me off, is that they have not provided any explanation or offer a suggested fix date

what helped me a bit with crashes on our second machine (identically to mine which has no problems) was installing msi afterburner and underclocking the graphics card.
Didn't completely remove the crashes, but reduced it to once an hour or less.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot.

lol Just downloaded the afterburner and I'm unsure of how to use it, so I don't want to cook my pc. Which is the bar to underclock? Memory I would assume? And how low did you go?

I've got 5 fans in this rig, so I would assume I'm fairly safe on temperature?
Excuse my lack of tech, I'm refreshing my pc gaming after a 25 year break on consoles :)

Well what dyano, it worked a treat! I dropped down to -32 (suggested lowest) and I've gone back up to High within the game without a crash for the past 2 hours.

Thank you indeed! ;)
