If the game is continuing to crash, you have something fundamentally wrong with either your system (likely) or your installation. Try this: if it crashes, reboot your computer and restart the game -- it may not be relinquishing all that it should to the operating system.

That is the worst piece of blanket advice I think I have ever heard. Resetting the BIOS (for a game) to default, even though you don't know what previous settings there were or why? Damn, that's stupid advice.

Ok your problem. If you know something about computers you know that this isnt shit. Only this works and that your computer after every crash just change just one number because of Witcher 3. Just take it to default. Peace

I evidently know infinitely more than you do. A BIOS is not something to just reset to default just because a game won't start, that's utter bullshit. You don't even say why you think that resetting the BIOS is a good idea (which it is not).

I don't need to. I can play whatever I want, whenever I want, even without resetting my BIOS. Your advice is bad and it's stupid. Don't do it.

So give me another option to repair it, if my software refuse it.

No. You tell *me* why you insist that resetting the BIOS to default is even a good idea? You still haven't explained that.
Never heard that a BIOS reset solve the problem and doing it, for 1 game, is not the key.

Last time i played in june 2017, started it 10 minutes ago and had the same problem.

Solved it with these steps

1. Verify / Repair
2. Deleted my "Mods" folder, perhaps i had an outdated mod in it
3. Rebooted my windows

And voila, it works again and even my old saves are loadable.

I wouldn't be playing with the BIOS either.

I have found with these types of problems, the solution can be a bit of a clean up using a few of the more reliable tools.

PrivaZer is a good start. The first time you use it, it will often take between 15 and 30 mins, but it does clean up a load of old junk left behind by different cookies, removed software and failed installations.

It shouldn't be finding anything from any of the Witcher games because these are DRM free, but it will from the GOG interface for example.

ADW cleaner is another good one to use.

IOBit Toolkit is comprehensive. I tend to use it then uninstall after.

These can (should only) be downloaded from the more reputable sources, MajorGeeks.com and BleepingComputer.com for example.
