Hi,

I have gog galaxy client and was happily enjoying witcher 3 for the last 10 days with 0 crash, 0 issues, smooth gameplay. I have windows 7.

After yesterday's gog client update 1.0.3.985 (beta) my witcher started to crash every single time when i try to start the game via gog client.

Here's details:

Edit: I re-installed it again, same happened. I have no installed anything else last 10 days, It's something to do with the client I am 100% sure.

I dont know if this will mess with your installed games, think not, but be careful.

What you could try is uninstall galaxy, then run an admin command prompt

(search for "cmd" in the windows start menu and right click it "launch as admin".

execute the following two commands:

sc delete GalaxyClientService
sc delete GalaxyCommunication

Now reinstall Galaxy (same location or a new one)

If that does not help, download the game from the website and play without galaxy. :)

Hey,
I have the same error, but the game works. The problem is that i don't get achievements. In previous versions of the client I didn't have this issue.

@ Chimgog: I did everything you advised, but with no effect.

Does anybody know how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance for your help.

I have the same error message for two days. Achievements are not counted and a connection from the client and game is missing.
I've tried all the options. Reinstalling GOG Galaxy, deletion of "Galaxy Client Service" and "Galaxy Communication" on the CMD console. Installation of all components as Admin. All files of GOG in my firewall and my antivirus program is released. Nothing works. It's frustrating.

No one knows how to fix the problem? Without renounce GOG Galaxy need.

After installing the latest GOG Galaxy app I am neither able to launch the app nor the game. Reinstalled like 10 times. Didn't work. When i click on either of them nothing happens. How about you? Getting the same error?

So, finally I've tried all the options, and I uninstalled even the 62 Windows updates of the last 3 days manually (the error occurred continuously in the last three days), I have uninstall the GOG Galaxy client, and cleared any other files from the client completely. I play "The Witcher 3" now without GOG Galaxy. This program is absolutely crap, and I'm not likely to install it until it has left out of the beta status.

UPDATE:

WTF ?? I created a new Windows user account and copied the savegames in the new user folder. And look there: the error does not appear with the other account on the same computer. Achievements are counted and the playing time in the Galaxy client continues.


But I have no idea why the problem persists in my main Windows user account. Maybe someone has an idea?

Well I tried that new account as well but achivments are still not counting ... I tried to finish "woodland spirit" and it not appear in GOG galaxy ... So its only 50% solution 4 me :D

Same problem since 10 days, i re-insatlled gog, i disabled GeForce experience, i can't see my progression in game i didn't have any trophy, i can't use the dlc since laste patch :(

I created a new user on my PC; i imported the save files on the new user and it's works.... i not understand why. Good game!

A user in the german forum got the same problem. His problem was that he has the letter "é" in his windows user name. So I guess GOG-Galaxy has problems with special characters like ä, ö, ü or è, é and so on.
After he changed his name he was able to play again.
