BatJoe: So let me get this straight... a bunch of pirates get to play the game early but legal owners of the game still have to wait next week?

And to top it off CD says they will still let the pirates have the patches for the game.

Well that's just crazy.
There is nothing stopping a pirate from getting patches anyway so why create restrictions on patches that only impede the honest owner of the game? Time and time again every system designed to stop the pirate has failed and has shown to be zero deterrent and more often then not makes the legitimate owner of the product's life more miserable. DRM doesn't work and it hurts the legit owners of games. Stop QQing over the fact that pirates can get the patches easier with CDPR games because no gating for patches has EVER stopped pirates from getting patches and have only made it an annoyance for the legitimate owners of the game.

I only care what MY experience is for a game. I don't need to know that pirates are punished or inconvenienced, I especially don't want to know that my inconvenience and frustration is a direct cause of the need to inconvenience the pirate.

In almost every hotly anticipated game someone somewhere gets a legit early copy and I don't care. I was ONLY ever promised I would get the game May 19 1am CET time. I was never promised that no one in the world wouldn't be playing before then. Hell with beta and friends and family contacts with CDPR developers I know people are playing now. Why worry about it?!?

danteszzz: Releasing the game 19th gives them a bit more time to make micro patches on release for bugs reported by reviewers

Glymner: PCGamer say that they have not even got a review copy yet.
its all almost the same architecture now so might have similar bugs on some instances. ps4 players get the game on the same day so i supose they get patches too via the internet or what ever console players use these days :D

and since they want ALL of us to get it the same day then we have to w8

TBreaker20: Sure! I'm a pirate myself, but I really liked this game, so I spent all my savings buying it.
Yep, me too. I mean I have 200 games on steam, but they were all bought on sales or are humble bundles. I usually pirate games before buying them (since no demos in anno 2015, wtf?). And even if I like the game I buy when I can afford it (after at least 50% discount). The only previous game I bought full price was Diablo 3 and that is because I sold an item for 200 euros through my brothers account (otherwise I wouldn't have bought it because I was disappointed with the game but I really wanted to play with my brother). The Witcher 3 is the first game I bought full price and even the first game I have preordered.

I am even a bit ashamed that I bought The Witcher 1 for 4 euros and The witcher 2 for 15 euros, since both games are more valuable (in my oppinion).

There are many events with Witcher 3 planned here in Poland on night 18th May. I believe that in other countries too. That's the main reason why they won't release it before 19th.
