I want to put some of me repair kits and other stuff into my storage. but I don't want to put all of them there. Is there a way to put only a portion of them into storage?

No, this is a very annoying oversight. The way I get around it is to split-drop any items I want to keep onto the floor, then place the rest in storage. You must then pick up your items off the floor. Not ideal, and, as I said, annoying, but there's no other way around it that I know.
