I got to a boss fight and I couldn't beat him, so I run, but I couldn't save the game, regardless of the fact that there were no enemies around. I get that you shouldn't be able to save while you in a fight, but why can't you run from boss fights to come back later to finish the quest when you're strong enough?
It is of course possible that it was a bug, but I don't think so. The quest was "A Towerful of Mice".

You CAN run from a boss without problems :p I had to ran from the "Wild at Heart" quest's boss, and I could save my progress without problems. Just make sure that the enemy stopped chasing you and returns to his lair. That marks the end of the fight.
If you are still being targeted or hunted, seen or unseen, you will not be able to save.
Well, if that's true then it must have been a bug or I was targeted from something without my knowledge. I was far away from the boss and had changed to a different quest. I will keep an eye out and see if it happens again or have a second look on the save. Thanks a bunch for answering. :)
