I'm using my crossbow trying to kill some undead drowners. I'm on the cabin roof. I have/HAD almost all of them down about 50% and had to leave the game so I saved ( had done so 4 times during this bow battle) and when I put the game back on All the drowners were back to full health???? I used the verify/repair to no avail it still puts them all back at full health??? I'm assuming this has to be a bug and I'm stuck having to start all over again which is a real bummer!!!!
Who says it's a bug? It may be intended behaviour -- saving in the middle of a battle is likely viewed by the developers as an exploit. I have to ask: why are you fighting from a roof with a crossbow... for THREE hours? Geralt is a sword fighter, not an archer.

What I do and don't do isn't the point I fight my battles my way. NO it is NOT an exploit. from where I* am firing it is not classed as a battle or I would NOT be able to save at all ! ( makes sense doesn't it?????) it is a bug as When you save what you have done is supposed to be saved no matter! I need to find out HOW to report a bug not get opinions on how I should fight my battles!

It may be an exploit as far as the developers are concerned, as I already stated. And I never gave advice on how to fight your battles, I simply asked a question. If you wish to sulk and stamp your feet over this, go ahead.

As for bug reports, you are in completely the wrong place. This is GOG, not CD Projekt Red. You need to go to their forums.
I spent a lot of time using the crossbow to plink away at swimming drowners from a spot out of the water before I found out that shooting drowners while Geralt is IN the water is an instakill. So, on the off chance you're shooting at drowners for that reason, I hope that helps.

Otherwise, you can go to CD Projekt Red's forums to report a bug. I think Hickory is right, though - this doesn't sound like a bug.

its not a bug, i tried a similar strat while taking out a large earth elemental, i would attack away until i needed to meditate or heal and would save in the mean time just incase i died, everytime i ran back either after loading a saved game or from meditation he would have full heath, also its possible that the more drowners appear, if you kill some and return to that area they will most likely be back there,
I have to agree, I don't think this is a bug. And in all honesty it's good that monsters regain their health with a reload mid-battle. If it didn't you can essentially beat any enemy in the game with a "Save -> get a hit in before enemy dones -> save" or simply reload if hit first strategy. That would make any difficulty completely meaningless.

Also, I don't have any idea what OP is doing for 3 hours with some drowners. I've never been in a battle with a group of drowners that took longer than 3 MINUTES. I have 170 hours into the game so I am pretty sure I have encountered every monster spawn point.

I have the new add on they are undead drowners and there are NO levels listed on them which means they are at least level 32 or better. I'm level 19 now I have over 250 hours in, I've not done a lot of the main quest as I'm travelling all over Vellan and there is so much to do :). The new Addon has nekkers the same way and I cannot beat even 1 of them and I have beaten a level 25 water witch and Golum but cannot even come close to killing 1 of them. under water it takes 5 shots with my crossbow to kill just 1 of them. just have to wit till I'm a lot higher!
