Since the new update my game can't be launch, when i press the "play" button nothing happen i just have an instant crash report, i tried to reinstall GOG and The Witcher and use the other thewitcher3.exe in the the game folder but i still get the same issue over and over again.

Im running out of ideas, i need a brave soul to help me play this game please.


Fix Edit : The GOTY Version isn't working at all but the vanilla seems to work (at least for me)

I have the same problem. Tried verifying/repairing game data and also the DX 11 Version but it crashes instantly after start with just showing the crash report. Downgraded to 1.32 (Classic) at least this version works.
After reading about some problems with the next gen version I think i´ll wait until most of the problems are sorted and then try again.

Same issue. I played the game before the update a lot. This was a clean/fresh install. I would say my system should be good in terms of HW & drivers. Playing many other games without issues. Submitted 3 crash reports, will stop trying until someone post a solution.

Same here. game worked fine before the update, now it's instant crash on either DX12 or DX11 this is so frustrating

I have the same problem, but the funny thing is that the old version before the update to v4.0 is running, and a new version is not launching.

How do you run the old version?

This is not "SOLVED."

I have uninstalled and reinstalled and no luck. It gives me "script compliation errors."

I had just started back playing a week ago and wasn't at all interested in the next-gen updates.

This is a kick in the teeth.

I can launch it with Vortex launcher, but not with GOG or by exe file. Bizarre!

Same issue, just uninstalled... now I hope in a fresh installation. For me we are just beta testers now, it will get worse and worse!

EDIT: after a fresh installation the game doesn't work, perfect!!! Sh*t! Sh*t! Sh*t! I'll try play it again in 2025 and I will no longer support cd projekt anymore after this sh*t, like CP2077

EDIT 2: I was able to download version 1.32 and everything works again!
