I am fighting the ghost of Iris Everec. Every time the ghost becomes weak, it hides in paintings to replenish health. There is advice in the tutorials to touch the glowing green image to block the monster, but I can't do that. Geralt is constantly facing the monster and directing attacks at it. Is there a free look mode? How do I supposedly strike a punch at the painting. I'm playing on an XBOX with a controller.

It's actually not easy to get the focus on the images.

As soon as Iris' spirit rises to the ceiling, observe carefully which of the images lights up. Roll to this image and click on it. Depending on the distance, you may need to roll twice:

Thanks, but actually I wasn't able to "click on the painting" with XBOX controller. The YT video clearly shows Geralt facing the painting before it stroke with the sword. On XBOX Geralt was always turned towards Iris that's why I thought there must be some undocumented joystick combination to release the auto enemy tracking.

I managed to beat the ghost by lowering the gameplay skill level. When standing close to the painting Geral accidentally smashed it during combat. It was still difficult but at the lowest skill level the ghost wasn't that strong

Very good way to get around Iris. As long as you returned your difficulty after. I found after being killed a few times that getting in quick and hitting hard done the trick. A few deaths you learn were the Bi*@# will spawn.

How on earth did you deal with the Caretaker? if Iris gave you problems?
The Caretaker was a pain too, but you just had to "dance" around it and hit at the right time spot. Actually I failed a few times then I discovered the well. I was walking in circles around the well keeping the Caretaker on the opposite side trying to follow me. From time to time he was launching an attack with the spade blocking himself by the well support poles which gave me the time to roll close hit the beast severely, rinse and repeat a few times, easy peasy
I'm really struggling with ghost of Iris Everec as well...this fight after the HD update got more challenging and I play in the story mode only - love the game story. The ghost kills me all the time...so frustrating.
