Yeah this is ridiculous how could they screw us like this?
typical, devs dont give a fuk about pc

time to switch to consoles next time. quitting pc gaming forever now, expesnive af hardware, poor optimization, no updates that consoles get.
After playing through Assassin's creed Origins in HDR just recently all I could think about was how good The witcher 3 would also look in HDR. HDR in Assassin's creed Origins worked flawlessly, no fuss, it just works and I can't see why HDR hasn't been added to The witcher 3 yet? Especially considering it has HDR support on the consoles.

they just dont care about pc m8, and m$ must have paid devs to update hdr/4k textures for one x for marketing reasons, notice how pro hasnt got hdr even though its over 1 year old, sony was too cheap to pay this dev. ive done some research and it looks like one x performs similar to gtx 1080 for exclusive titles, probably gonna be equal to 1080 ti in a few years due to more optimization and gpu drivers not caring about older hardware. i played gears 3 on 360 a few days ago again, it still looks good even compared to my pc @ 720p (2500k gtx 1070 ultra settings), ridiculous optimization gears 3 and halo 3 were.

moral: play on consoles next gen, its cheaper, better support, not to mention there's no OLED monitors right now and tvs are better than the best monitor avaliable. only flaw for console gaming is slightly more expensive games, and a few games not avaliable (e.g. starcraft 2), but only certain RTS will be pc exclusive and most people dont even play RTS.

1: The "4K textures" are literally the exact same as PC's Ultra textures.
2: PS4 pro is getting HDR support next week.
3: Xbox One X has a similar GPU performance profile to somewhere between a Radeon HD 580 and a GeForce GTX 1070, while the CPU is just an upclocked version of the same CPU in the base Xbox One (it's gone up from 1.75GHz to 2.3GHz) meaning that the CPU profile is now on-par-ish with an i3 4170 (and even then, I still think that the i3 still outperforms it by a not-insignificant margin).
4: Yes, they were optimized _for their hardware_. Comparing optimization on a 360 to an x64-based PC is like comparing the optimization of a GameBoy Color title to a ZX Spectrum title; they're two different beasts entirely. And comparatively, no. Halo 3 is quite poorly optimized for the system comparing the quality of games that came out two years later that run at the same resolution and same gameplay scope, but run at literally double the framerate.

And as a sidenote, yes, I am a PC player who has an HDR capable display (a Sony X800D), and I would love HDR support for this title.

Wait, so to get back at the money hungry companies, you are going to do exactly what they want of you!?

Facepalm...

Seriously, people like you are the reason Companies treat PC like shit. Also, PC is not hugely expensive, not when you consider the cost of an Xbox one X with a 4k HDR TV screen.

I'll remember how they treated us when their new game releases.
