LordRikerQ: I think its pretty sad people have to resort to bashing on disabled people in defense of a game. Talk about a resounding lack of compassion. Guess who else insulted disabled people for their problems, Nazis.

This is really something CDPR should look into, and fanboys. Witcher 3 is a great game, universally known, you don't need to bash disabled players in some imaginary defense front, theres just no need.

I am disabled too, though in my legs, I cant really do Kinect, but controllers are fine, that being said at least the disabled bashers arent any where near as bad as Microsoft's Fanboys who mercilessly attacked disabled people for pointing out issues.
Have compassion do not mean treat people like they were retarded.
CDPR is a great software house. They have released the fix one week after the release of the game. Your life was sad in the last week because you cannot play a videogame? this is very sad in my humble opinion.
Yes, The Witcher 3 is a great game but what is very sad is to read the word Nazis compared to a videogame bug. I think with this comparison you have offended million people.
Remember, compassion and pity are two different things. And we just talking about videogames, not real life.

styggron: @Avalan

Agree with you all the way. Even with the patch I am still waiting before downloading. I never played any Witcher games, I have them on GoG though. I agree if they "regressed" and went back to the "old ways" that is very puzzling.

I shall indeed wait. Thank you for your advice, I was planning on this but you helped to cement my decision. I really would rather wait until the whole installer was different too, ie no day one patch etc. I read far too many installation issues even which is scary.

Actually I would very much like to PM you as I have a question that might be a little controversial here on the forums although there have been some threads on it but I have no wish to "stir anything up" it is just an open honest question with no pretense. Would you mind if I send you a PM ?

Thanks Avalan. :)
Oooo... oooo... :o) You have TW1 and TW2? Play those first! :o) As I went on about before, the Enhanced Editions do a lot and by the time you're finished them, TW3 might be in much better shape. I hope so at least.

And yes, I didn't comment before, but if your bandwidth is limited, then a repacked single download, would be *much* better.

You're welcome, I'm always happy to prattle on :o) And yeah, PM away. Am disappearing off for a little while, but shouldn't be gone too long, so go ahead.

Killduke: CDPR just released 1.04 patch. The first fix of the changelog is:

Rebinding any key is now available after switching Unlock Bindings option in Options \ Key bindings submenu.
avatar
Killduke: Enjoy!! :)
Doh! And I was just disappearing off for a bit.

Good news.
avatar
Avalan: We're back to "We'll see." :o)
avatar
foo_: Well, we see today: Patch 1.04 is supposed to fix the keybinding issues.

Yay? :)
Patch is out and just looked at the Patch Notes. As Killduke said: "Rebinding any key is now available after switching Unlock Bindings option in Options \ Key bindings submenu."

I *was* about to disappear off, but... but... no, must go. I'll start the download now and install a bit later.

So "yay" indeed :o)

Wow....so CDPR actually did it. Well this is MOST impressive I'd say. They did listen, they did act.
My faith in them doing things "different" and actually listening to people has been restored.

Good on your CDPR team !

I hope everyone that had problems with it for accessibility will now be able to enjoy it.

@Avalan
I was considering looking at TW1 and TW2, however I am unlikely to "finish" them per se. You see, I really don't like fantasy games, dragons, wizards, magic etc all that kind of stuff. I got TW1 and TW2 really really cheap so I got them to have a brief look at them, play them a tiny bit maybe. With TW3, I mainly got it for a few reasons. The first is I just wanted to "walk around in the world and look at things". The second is I wanted to support CDPR and GoG as I adore their ethos, they really seem to be so different to other devs out there. My faith is fully restored now they have dealt with the accessibility issue. So there you have it. Sure I might put on TW1 and play it a little but I doubt I will get into it really because I so hate fantasy stuff. :) I know it might sound silly, why buy a game you will not play fully ? Well like I said, they may not be good reasons for others but they were enough for me :)

I'm still going to wait for the new installers on GoG though. So I might indeed play TW1 a little. :)
I shall also PM you soon, thanks again Avalan :)

[UPDATE] Can't find how to PM. There is "chat" but I can't pick who to "send" to. This is odd. there must be a PM or maybe there isn't. Hmmmm I might need to post it here after all eeeek, well, in the "thread of contention" that already exists anyway :)

Just a quick note: some keys aren't fully bindable. Map, for example can be rebound, but 'M' will still be needed to get *out* of the Mao screen Same problem as before that I had with the Inventory :o(
Oh dear. :(

Ok so 1.04 does NOT solve the problem then. Ok well, at least it is there so they are actively working on it but looks like it still does not work properly so we just need to wait a little more. I still won't download it till I see threads that say people rebinded it and it ALL works.

Patch 1.05 hopefully :)

Imagine how busy it is there at CDPR :)

Okay, proper response. Well, as proper as I can manage :o)

As far as I'm concerned people get what they get out of something. I don't want to tell someone else what they should and shouldn't like, as for one thing, I don't want people to do that to me. So, no, I don't think it's at all silly. And anyway, anyone supporting GoG and DRM free is always a good.

But yeah, still maybe have a look at TW1. If you think "Yup, it's a fantasy game, can I stop playing now?", then stop playing :o) Hopefully the combined installer will be out and you can finally play.

As for the PM, the messages are permanent, so I think one can say anything there anytime, so feel free. Not sure if GoG will *tell* me that there's a Chat message waiting, but that's another story :o) If need be, give me a prod here.

Yea, until you realize that CLOSING the menu's doesn't work with the remapped key and you STILL have to hit the default one.

And does Esc still take 2 or three presses to get out of the Panels?

Not that it would be a solution, but I just thought, can Esc be rebound?

Not 2 or 3 presses to get out, for me at least. I don't see any lag there in terms of the input being pressed.

Now, if somebody had a dirty ass keyboard and the buttons stuck... who knows :)

And No, there is currently no way to re-map Escape. I truly wish there was, as I play on the other side of the kb, using the arrow keys. Hate having to reach all the way across the damn thing everytime I want to exit (since some prompts aren't mouse click-able)

Baby steps, I guess...

Sorry, I didn't mean lag, I meant one press takes you out of the region map to the world map. Another press takes you to the panels list. Then the third press brings you back into the game proper.

And the dirty assedness of my keyboard is none of your concern :oP

Thanks for the Esc info. I so like to rebind Esc to 'Q'.

Hmm.. ok, so you are talking about specifically exiting the map. I had thought you meant exiting panels in general. For me, just hitting M again to exit works, because I usually just hit M to enter the map.

Getting out of the Map takes three presses of Esc, the others take two (I think it's only the Map that takes 3 as it has the region map plus the word map).

I would normally do the same in pressing the same key to get in and out of a Panel, but since it seems that they didn't change the binding to get *out* of a Panel, then I wondered if they'd included the request to have Esc get out of any Panel with just one press and not 2 or 3.
Hopefully that's the next thing they fix.

I don't think they planned to release a solution that only half works like that.

Considering TW3 has only been out for a very short time, that's not too bad is it. Already have 2 patches :)
You might want to look into "Pinnacle Game Profiler", i used that software to be able to play games like morrowind and the secret world with a xbox controller on my pc because when using 3rd person i just find it more enjoyable.

With that software you might be able to play all the games you want as it is very versatile.
