Greetings fellow witchers.

As indicated on the title, the game works perfectly except that a couple of times it crashed when I was in the menu.

I had only one screen turned on and couldn't luanch the task manager for the game frame could not be reduced. So the only thing I was able to do was to reboot my PC completely.

Is there a way to fix this? Cause rebooting the PC ain't good if it's done too many times :-/

Thank you for your time and your answers, and enjoy the game, it deserves it!
Have the exact same problem. Game works flawlessly until i enter the in-game menu (specifically the inventory). It has crashed 5 or 6 times already in the exact same screen.

Weird thing is that it never happened while i had the game on windowed (borderless) but it started happening as soon as i started running it full screen.

Dunno if it has anything to do with it, but i'm playing with a controller, not keyboard/mouse.

Hope this gets sorted out soon, i'm enjoying the game very much but the crashes are starting to get annoying.

It seems that if you set your game to borderless window mode instead of fullscreen . it significantly reduces these frreeze..
Alright, thank you for the hint!

Gonna try this immediately!

Cheers :)

Couldn't you just press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to bring up task manager?

It seems like a memory leakage problem, the game just uses more & more while sitting with the inventory open.
Yes I am in the same boat. My pc has high specs and game runs smooth as butter. Until random times it will happen when I go to view an item in my inventory or drag a potion ect to the right slot it will freeze.
I have the same issue. I hope that it fix it in new patch.

It doesn't, the game's window remains up front, and no matter where I click it doesn't change, I can only see my cursor on the bottom bar of windows.

But since I switched the game to borderless window I did not encounter this crash anymore.
Had the game freeze up on me twice last night, and completely crash once blaming Nvidia display drivers.
Had same issue with borderless window.
I've disabled vertical sync and framerate lock (move slider from 60 fps to "unlimited").
and I've playing couple of hours without inventory screen freeze.
There is issue in W3 with framerate controll between world screen and chracter / inventory screen.
