The Galaxy client insists on constant update for the W3. Says "The Witcher 3 installation failed." Then says release within an hour...? It just keeps restarting the update process, this is really annoying.

Tried going to "!Downloads" folder and deleted the patch 1.01. That I assume is corrupted, but then restart the Galaxy client and same issue again...
Im having that problem to. Currently re downloading the game in the hopes it will work properly. I did re load windows on my primary drive to get off windows 10 this morning which may be part of my problem :/

Same issue. Trying the manual download. Will report.
Try download offline patch. Quit GOG Client and install patch from downloaded folder. Then start GOG Client again, should be ok then. If not - please contact support.

I did. and it patched, but no luck. Galaxy says game not released yet. It is currently downloading a 300mb patch again.

I moved the preload to ssd and showed to galaxy where it is before, my main gog folder is somwhere else. Maybe that is it.

I read someone else needed to re-download that patch two or three times before it worked. Hopefully that'll be the case for you too.
i have the same problem plz help i really want to play the game
I'm not seeing any sign of The Witcher 3 in the registry which I'm guessing is causing the patch to fail.

What is the executable? I targeted the Galaxy client as the "program" to open with but to no avail.

It should be located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GOG.com\Games\1207664643 or similar.
I find myself in the same unfortunate situation.
I preloaded my game a few days back and now I keep getting the failure message after trying to launch the game via galaxy.
This is very disheartening considering I took the day off work lol
I guess I'm going to have to spend a few hours manually intalling all the files again.
I fixed it when I saw it was updating at the old location, I copied it there, it updated (playable), changed name of folder, uninstalled game in galaxy, copied to ssd, and import folder. it works now.
Hey guys i fixed my endless updating change the folder name from witcher 3 wildhunt to just witcher 3 and install this drive dot googledot com/open?id=0B3gO-SMbg V-lM2cxTWpsWlExWTg&authuser=0 then run the patch

Yea this was my thoughts, that the damn update file is looking for the installation files at the C drive location.....

Yeah, I've got other games there but no Witcher 3.
