Hello, i've ran into something resembling a bug in "Wine Wars" questline.

I've started that quest by agreeing to help Liam de Coronata to investigate his vineyard's problems, but refused Matilda Vermentino's by choosing "not now" option. Thought i'll see how it goes and then deal with the other side.

Once i was finished with his side of the problem, i came back to take Matilda's part of the quest. The quest log clearly says "Without investigating Vermentino's problems, let Liam take over Belgaard, or continue investigating and deal with Matilda's problems".

Problem is, when i try talking to any of these two, i only get the option to finish the quest and assume Liam won. There's no more option to accept Matilda's questline, while, according to the log and dialogues there should be one.

Am i missing something? Is there any way to accept the quest at this point?

Thanks.

How far back do your saves go? I believe if you help one side fully, as in 5 out of 5 objectives done, it automatically locks you out of helping the other one. There is a way to help both of them, the quest log should have said something like "investigate the other vineyard for evidence of sabotage" (paraphrased). I agree that the quest log is written weirdly in that part you bolded.

Would it be possible for you to go to an earlier save without having to redo too much?

You are missing something. Continuing with Matilda's part does not involve any dialog. Just mark that entry in your journal and follow the quest markers: you have to solve *her* infestation problems as well. Once you've done that, go back and talk to them both (they're together).

The quest entry is written exactly like that. So, it is hard to understand if i'm actually locked out because 5/5, or there's some bug that prevents me from taking the other side's quest. I'm somewhat sure it's a bug, because permanent changes happen only after i report that Liam's vineyard is safe and he's chosen as a winner (permanent like quest-related npcs are moved to another location and buyout posters appear on Matilda's property).

Unfortunately by the time i've noticed this issue, it was too late to revert. I believe it's been some 5-6 hours since i've hit that 5/5 mark.

Sadly I can't progress with her part, as i missed my chance to get that part of a quest from the begining (refused with "maybe later"), and now there's no dialogue line to accept it anymore.

Then I'm confused, because you said: "The quest log clearly says "Without investigating Vermentino's problems, let Liam take over Belgaard, or continue investigating and deal with Matilda's problems"." If the quest log has the entry to continue, then as I said, select that entry (no need for dialog) and follow the markers. That's all you have to do.

That is exactly the problem. The quest log hints that there should be an option to continue the investigation by helping the other side, but in reality i have no quest entries to do so (missed my chance to accept it in the begining), and i cannot get that part of the quest now, as there is no dialogue line available for that.

Do you have a quest entry for 'Wine Wars: Vermentino', either active or failed?

Edit: If you don't have that entry, follow this video regardless, and clear all of Matilda's areas. That may just trigger the quest, since that what these quests are all about.

There are 5 (I think) parts to the quest for Liam. You can do all of them - but do not go back to see him when they are finished, or you will not be able to do Matilda's questline.

Guess, it's the case after all, though the quest entry was not clear about that. I've finished one part without even accepting the other, and now it's just impossible to take. Will have to accept that as a consequence of my earlier choice :) Thank you all for your answers.
