NG+ in Toussaint. I'm on llevel 96 and would like to get a higher level silver sword than my current level 90 sword.
All the blacksmiths seem to only sell steel swords so how do I find a higher level silver sword?

Do the quest to get Aerondight. Strongest silver sword in the game, by default.

I started "There can be only one" in an attempt to get that sword. I have all the required qualities except valor.
I am hoping the fist fights in Toussaint gets me the valor I need.
(On my first play through when I got that sword I sold it immediately as it did not match up to what I already had.)
I noticed that all blacksmiths have silver swords but they are the swords I have previously sold to them.

That usually happens in games where loot just keeps leveling with the player. It's stupid, but you can get plain vanilla swords that are more powerful than named relic swords, all the way through the game.
Hmmm... didn't know that fistfighting would get you the valor you need. Just looked it up and evidently it does.

Give the trophy back to the knight in "Feet as Cold as Ice" or complete "Warble of a Smitten Knight"... you should get valor after the Tourney.

"Warble of a Smitten Knight" I completed a while back. "Feet as Cold as Ice" is several levels higher than my current level
so I am reluctant to try doing it at this stage.
Well, too late to go and change your decision on Smitten Knight - but you could certainly try doing Cold as Ice - just make sure to have a save to go back to if it turns out to be too difficult for you. When you do get through it - ensure you give the monster trophy to the knight at the end to get your Valor.

I completed the Toussaint fist fight tournament and received the valor I needed and managed to get that sword.
I did not keep it for long as I soon got a better sword to replace it.
Ummm... You're doing it wrong. There IS no better sword.

Whatever. Have fun with your game.

That was a mistake. Aerondight is the best silver sword in the game. What you need to know is that as you kill enemies it retains a charge, and if you kill something with the sword fully charged its damage increases, to an upper limit. As you level up, so does the potential (and the upper limit) of the sword. You must use it for it to be effective.

I replaced that sword because I got another sword with +20 dmg and rated at a higher level.
Take note of Hickoy's response.

Aerondight will scale with you for the rest of the game. You just have to use it.

OK I will try to buy back that sword if I can remember who I sold it to.

I see a problem in that I cannot level up anymore - level 100 is obviously the max. No more XP points.
