I was backing up (not installing) my gog games today, and when I got The Witcher 3 I saw that it was a 27 gig base file and then it looked like about 6 patches for 1.2, I believe. (I only own the base game no DLC)

So I started clicking on each other the files to download, but before I could click on the last patch file the page refreshed all by itself and there were different files available.

Now there is a 24 gig main file and then 3 patch files for 1.3.

Did the game get smaller? Also it says the main file is already 1.3. So I would assume I don't need those patch files.

I guess my question is, what do i actually need to DL? I cancelled the DL of the 27 gig file and the 1.2 patches to see if they would come back up on the DL page, but they have not it still has the 24 gig file and the 3 1.3 patches.

It's a tad bit confusicating.
