I was wondering if the game would even come close to running at all on the most minimum settings on my PC. It is well under the minimum specs, but sometimes the min. specs lie.

So, has anyone tried it on a under-min spec machine?

My machine is:

Core 2 E8600 3.00GHz
MSI Overclocked GTX 650Ti
4GB RAM (that may be a big killer there)
Win7 64bit
Not the same, but similar numbers.

i7 3,06GHz (it's a quad core)
GTX 660Ti (2 gigs)
And yeah... 10gigs of memory, but from what i've seen the game takes bit over 2 gigs. Still 4 gigs are ridiculous for any gaming machine today :-/

I've got DDR2 and my slots only take 4 each. For the price of 8GB, it's almost the same cost as a new MOBO and processor and 8GB DDR3, so I'm saving up.

I like to upgrade bits and pieces at a time to make the financial burden easier. The PC itself is from 2001ish, I think. But only case, fans and DVD player are original. :)
Yeah DDR2's are expensive.

And over smaller or bigger upgrades i have original only DVD burner and still working 3,5 Floppy drive (believe it or not :-D)
Mine is...

AMD Phenom II x4 955
16 gig ram
geoforce gtx 680

Had to run on low, except for textures/details.
Not sure about now, after patch; gonna check.

Go talk to this guy (Intel HD4000 graphics. I'm not joking!):

I'm getting 8-14 FPS on my laptop with everything on low.

AMD A8-6410 APU / AMD Radeon R5 Graphics 2.00 GHz, 8GB RAM, Windows 8.1

i got ya beat XD 560 ti 3.4 ghz quad i7 16 gigs ram
So if it booted up at all, I'd have to play at Atari 2600 resolution and get no more than a few FPS. :)

Thanks guys!

Intel 4000HD -- cracks me up! That little processor can do some work, though. That's what I played Witcher 1 on. Haha. :)

You might be surprised -- many people seem to be playing it successfully on below min-req systems. Perhaps look up W3 videos with similar system specs as yours on youtube.
I7 950 (3.07 ghz) / 16 gb ram DDR3 / GTX560 2Gb. Runs fine on low settings (except texture - high)

i3-2100 @ 3.10 GHz
8 GB RAM
NVIDIA GTX 960

I'm the opposite of what people are posting in that my video card is above requirements but my processor is under since it's only a dual core. I'm still in White Orchard and it's been fine but my concern is how it's going to perform once I get into the larger map, especially the large city.

I have a Z68 motherboard. While I could buy a quad core CPU for it, it seems like I'd be paying more because it's an older chipset.
Don't know why in topics that go like "anyone playing on underpowered PCs" there are only people with powerful PCs. Guys, i3, i5 and i7s are all powerful enough. If you have a good video card, you're done.

Look at my specs instead:

- 6GB RAM
- i7 2.2Ghz (turbo boost allowes 3.1, but... meh)
- Nvidia 540m 2GB.

Yeah, that Nvidia is definitely garbage. I have to low down the settings a lot and enable pre-rendered frames in the Nvidia Control Panel (do it if your fps are low!), then the game is playable for me.

I only need a better understanding of every single tweak option in the config files.

edit: I've just downclocked my i7 CPU. Now it's at its 65% of power instead of 100%. Same fps on gameplay, but very little less in intro cut-scenes.
