cloud8521: sound card is not the issue. i had a Xfi, but i finally got annoyed by its fuckin popping, so i went to the on-board sound realtek. best switch i made in a while. anyway the problems still persist even with the change
True, there are other people that use on board sound and have sound problems in TW2. Me, I'm pleased with my X-Fi so far, never had any popping problems.

i had the more expensice XtremeAudio. thing popped all the damn time. its a problem with the whole Xfi series apparently. but even so, removing it never helped the game audio

that i think may be happening tho is the game itself is deciding that the rear speakers are the side ones and the ones we dont have, are rear. so its trying to send 7.1 and messing it up on the way... or maybe not

Could be. Anyway, I have sent a mail to TW2 support about this problem, they asked me to send the dxdiag report file and now I'm waiting for an answer.

vAddicatedGamer: List of possible bugs aside, does anyone have actual news about patch 1.3?
We are working on fixing a lot of issues that are being reported to us by players, however the patch should be out soon (can't give you the exact date yet).

mukhlisz: Patch 1.2 was a solid fix for me. All I need now is the option to separately change Voice & Audio volume.
Completely agree with this. In Witcher 1, there's seperate options for Music, Battlemusic, Dialogue and Ambience.

Why would they OMIT what they have in the first version?
After installing patch 1.2 I can't even play TW2 for more than 5 minutes before it crashes to desktop. I hope there will be fix for that in the next patch because I just want to play the game! CDPR can you hear me?! ;)

P.S. It seems there won't be a solution for the Steam 9gb patch problem anytime soon, so maybe I'll buy the game again from GOG some fine day...

You can try lowering the graphic settings in game's Launcher. Sometimes, auto-detection enables higher display options which can cause frequent crashes.
If problem still exists please turn off "Depth of field" and "Blur" option in graphic settings and follow instructions below:
1) Proceed to start -> run and type: cmd
2) In opened window type command: bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa 3072
3) Restart PC

Thanks for the update. Are there any sound issues on the list to be fixed? Just asking... :)

For 7.1 windows speakers setting, changed to 5.1 actual speakers by Asus Xonar rear sound seems fine.

As for popping in X-Fi, mute all imputs like line in 1/2, mic's etc and popping should be gone. At least that worked for me when i was using X-Fi Fat. Plat. some time ago. With YouPax drivers OFC.

Well that was fast! Hmm you got me thinking maybe I should delete my custom config files and save files and start over with a clean slate so to speak. I'll try what you suggested when I get home. Hope it works :)

EDIT: So far so good, about an hour without a crash (usually it crashed when I quicksaved). This time I adjusted settings from the *configurator* to sensible levels. I let you guys know if my good luck continues.

EDIT: OK no crashes anymore and I experimented a bit with User.ini and got the game looking wonderful (and with FPS between 30-60).

Geralt’s movements are very sluggish and keyboard keys are very slow to take effect so Geralt is very slow, don’t really like playing the combat while it’s sluggish so will wait for a fix before continuing with the game.

Seriously? Realtek sucks in every way possible. They sound like shit and have lousy performance. BTW, I have NO popping with my X-Fi. Maybe you need to update your drivers?

Your card...my X-Fi Xtreme Music doesn't have this issue.

Will it add a storage CHEST in 1.3 pretty please?
I think they wanted to add one, but they forgot eventually. I mean - why have my own room unless for the storage facility they forgot to bring in? Oh... and for the pissing pot. I can see citizens pissing on trees and walls all over, alright, but my delicate nature rejects in horror such behaviour. That was a serious issue for me and needs to be addressed ASAP. And even when I tried to do it like everybody else, nothing happened. Pressed all imaginable key combinations - nothing at all! Or is this part of the keyboard bug everybody seems to be annoyed with?
