Hi Community,
i played Witcher 2 a few years ago on an i5 / 8 GB DDR3 / GTX 1060 - Windows 10 with:
40-60 FPS with everything on max but without Über-Sampling.
Now i tried to play the game again, this time not on the side of the Scoyatel.
System today:
Ryzen 5 1500X / 32 GB DDR4 / GTX 1060 - Windows 11 with:
15-25 FPS the moment i leave Triss tent, with everything on max but without Über-Sampling.
And the strange thing is, it doesn't matter which settings i choose. Lowest or highest (1080p) the result is always the same?! What the... !?
I reinstalled the Crapvidia driver, complete deinstallation and then fresh new install. I completely deleted every old Witcher config but the result is always the same.
I already set the user.ini TextureMemoryBudget=6144, fitting my GTX 1060 specs. Nothing helps.
Trying DXVK (in Windows) won't change anything too.
And to enter the zone were normal things don't happen very often completly. When i install Witcher 2 (Windows Version) under my Linux on the other drive (Fedora 42 / KDE / Proton GE 10-3) and use the same max settings i use under Windows 11, i get out nearly constant 60 FPS, no matter whats happening on the screen.
Is there some kind of heavy problem with The Witcher 2 and Windows 11 ?! Does somebody here know a solution?
Edit: Steam Version shows the same behavior under Windows 11
