Every time I click on the launch game from the witcher 2 launcher I get a window that says "please use launcher to activate game. Does this mean I have to register? If so when I try to register my copy it says it can't connect to server. HELP PLZ!
What I did was clicked the download link on the page where you purchase the game and pre-loaded it beforehand. Afterward, I downloaded the last two files of the 1-7 downloads from the Witcher 2 icon under "My Games" tab (click it and it should list downloads).

Make sure you close the down loader before having the final file pieces downloaded manually.
Then launch the GoG downloader and it should continue to download from there.

I fully downloaded the game AND installed it. When launching the game the launcher won't launch the game and I can't register because it says I can't connect to the server...
I'm having the same problem.
Uninstalled and I'm now installing again to see if something went wrong with the installation

I could register it, but trying to download the english subs and texts keeps repeating itself over and over and over etc etc
For the activation problems - try going to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\The Witcher 2

or if you're on 32bit windows:

C:\Program Files\GOG.com\The Witcher 2

And running 'patcher.exe'

Also English voice over and subs were already included for my copy, I didn't need to download them.

I go there and give me an error says the game is not fully installed..... great...

Reinstalling worked - my virus scan didn't allow the patch to complete to I allowed it and now it works.
After installing it launched the activation patch which gave an error

"Critical Error
Installed game version is invalid or incomplete"

Ran patcher.exe from install directory and it successfully patched the game
Try this, go to C:\Users\"x name here"\Documents\GOG.com Downloads\witcher_2

Then run setup_the_witcher_2.exe

It should verify the integrity of your client and rectify any errors.
Well, to me it's even worse. Launcher.exe is simply missing after the installation.
Whenever I try and run the patcher it says this "Internal erro at C:\Users\Andrew\AppData\Local\Temp\pat8F73.tmp" or some other randomly named file at the end there. I'm an admin so it shouldn't be some stupid fucking windows permission thing
Ok it worked for me. it's freaking Kaspersky or any other anti-virus software. what you need to do is uninstall the game if you already have it installed then shutdown your antivirus software completely. Afterward reinstall :).
