So I just bought both Witcher 1 and 2, but I haven't played either yet.
However, I'm more eager to start with TW2 instead.

Is this a feasible idea or should I try to be patient and finish TW1 first?
And if I can start with TW2 instead, what is the minimum story knowledge about TW1 that I should have without being spoiled too much?

Thanks in advance.

It is feasible, but I don't recommend it too much. TW1's gameplay is very different and may put you off if you're used to TW2. Both games have beautiful stories and choices that matter, and doing TW1 first will help you ease into the world as well as give you a save you can use for TW2. Either way they're both excellent games, I'd recommend you play the first, first :)
Play TW1 first. You'll be missing a lot if you don't . Besides it's not like the game is ugly and bad comparing to the sequel. It's magnificent.
Ok, I guess I'll start with TW1 then.

Thanks for the opinions, guys.
