Things The Witcher 1 had and i miss:
-Storage for your items
-Npcs Names or some kind to recognize important npcs
-Group style fighting , i believe this is really needed ... i mean geeze
-Journal and quest system , on Witcher 1 i could understand everything, om Witcher 2 i am lost lol
-Potion drinking is annoying (wait meditate for to drink a potion) and they last too few
-Fun romance encounters seems to be gone and Geralt is now Saint Geralt , when he gained that title he also lost his fighting and survival skills :p

Just wanted to share my feelings , still on chapter 1 and i feel lost , weak and lonely hahaha
I agree with you on the storage and important NPCs.

There are group fighting abilities, but you have to train in sword fighting some before you get them. You don't have them at the start.
I agree, with the group fighting, its pretty ridiculous to be honest, sure you have bombs but they're only mid-long range.

Also I've played about 2 hours and haven't found any romance encounter, i don't know if I'm just missing them all or what.

Agreed on all counts.

I want my ALT button back.

TigerLord: I want my ALT button back.
While not as convenient, the Medallion function, default "Z", is the new "alt button". It allows you to see what objects you can search (among other things) in your immediate environment.

It's cool that many NPCs have their own name, but you're right it makes it difficult to find the ones that matter. If I see an NPC named Grub I'll go talk to him, and it's kind of odd that he'll only say something like "hello" and not give me a quest. :(

But like I said it's neat that NPCs have unique names rather than just "Merchant", "Thug", or "Beggar" like the first game.

-Storage for your items

agreed

-Npcs Names or some kind to recognize important npcs

well i know its not a solution but the map does it

-Group style fighting , i believe this is really needed ... i mean geeze

agreed, i mean its silly. hope the later things are great

-Journal and quest system , on Witcher 1 i could understand everything, om Witcher 2 i am lost lol

press J. it opens up the journal and quest system.

-Potion drinking is annoying (wait meditate for to drink a potion) and they last too few

agreed, do you really need to meditate to drink something? i thought they were suppose to be his go to items.

-Fun romance encounters seems to be gone and Geralt is now Saint Geralt , when he gained that title he also lost his fighting and survival skills :p

never went so far but he does seem to be ... stupid suddenly . he looks scarier but he use to be a badness fighter.
I agree with OP, the game definitely isn't as user friendly as it could've been. One thing in particular that annoys me is that you can't learn the formulae (alchemy or crafting) and instead have to carry them around with you. Another thing I've noticed is that I could sell some items that were marked as Book/Quest Item! So now I'm left wondering if I'll need that item for a quest later on or if I can read it and then sell it.

- Don't care either way. I have more than enough room and I like the challenge of balancing what's important and what's not.

- Don't care about that either. Do you want a giant arrow over their heads, too?

- Level up your swordsmanship. The combat is light years beyond the first game now.

- It's still very easy to understand, don't know what your problem is....perhaps take a little more time?

- It fits the lore and makes more sense. When gripping your sword with two hands, faced with 5 enemies, who has time to fumble around with a bottle? Also, it rids the game of potion spamming.

- Give Geralt time, he's had a lot happen the last few months.

I think you've barely scratched the surface. It's a long game and it may surprise you in the end. Don't give up or let your initial feelings dampen your experience.
When u go away from jail, in the next village u can go to the tabern and down stairs pay for sex. :P

just because he said those does not mean he thinks its bad, he means he misses a few things that could have worked better.

like with potions they could last longer.

combat could be slightly more intuitive without losing what is is now.

they could give better indication on who is important. but it is cool that it does not, more of a rpg environment

The witchers who kinda rely on potions as their go to item would have time. as for the spamming of potions that's what the toxin meter is for

what? did his other leg get crushed? i dont see what can change is a few months to make him that different.

Things I miss from the original:

- Shani. That is all :P
