Cyjack: Portal 2 is a wonderfully entertaining game. Im not sure when we got to the point that we have to look for some kind of critics conspiracy for praising a wonderfully entertaining game.

My mistake. I interpreted your remark as attributing some sort of agenda to Portal 2's high ratings.
what PROFESSIONAL negative review are you talking about?

I've only seen one bad review and it was written by a fat loser nerd, is that the one you're talking about?

He cried during the review on how hard the game is.

He must be a betsheda fanboy, aka the king of handholding!
I think those negative reviews hurt sometimes because some of us treat Witcher games with some genuine emotions. And that's actually something good!

I just have this weird feeling that it can still be the case of CDP Red being not Bioware/Bethesda or any other well established studio.

I mean come on. I remember when ME2 reviews were showing up with 10/10 metrics and "ohs" and "ahs" all around. All positives I remember from the game are decent graphics and pleasant shooting mechanics....and that's all. Oh, sorry, I forgot about that childish and predictable storyline and ultra-choice-giving dialogue trees, after which the story continued like I didn't actually make any choice. But It was Bioware/EA.

It's not a conspiracy theory but we have to take into consideration that journalist/reviewer environment is mostly based on relations. And those guys received so many treats, exclusives, early copies and were to so many gigs with big publisher people, that it actually matters, even if we try to close our eyes and pretend that "no, it just can't be that way".
Portal 2 was an okay game, but it didn't warrant a 60 dollar price tag.

Source engine is old
Game is nothing new

Max 25-30 usd for what seems like an expansion.
Meh. Portal 2 and Minecraft are the darlings of the day. I seem to be the only person on the planet that didn't find anything particularly amazing about what is basically an arcade game and playing with legos.

I did when I was a child, but I have apparently grown old and dead inside.

Which is why the only review that matters is your own.

the game should get -2POINTS for deceiving people about minimum/recommended system requirements...
Now how should i feel if my pc almost meets recommended system requirements and i still cant play the game.. it runs on 15fps on all settings disabled/lowest possible + terrible lags every 10sec...
system task manager shows i still have 500mb free memory and i have a ton of gb virtual memory and hdd space.
only vital system programs are running in background..
p.s. sorry for a rant, i cant hold it much longer..

Interesting.. my PC is only barely above the minimum specs and it runs great on medium settings. It occasionally takes half a second extra for some textures to load, but I don't mind it at all.
6/10 is undeserved I guess...the game's overrated though.
I think it's aptly rated to review standards these days. Some too low, some too high..

There are games out there that are far more over-hyped and overrated than TW2 is. And I'm not talking about certain Bioware titles here... I'm talking about stuff like Oblivion, CoD MW, GTA IV and Minecraft (yes indygames are cool, but you can give a game too much praise).

Agreed,. The issue is not TW2 scores, the game is getting very high praise, the issue is other games are so grossly overrated they scores are skewed (PC gamer DA 2 review LMAO).
