greenfish: I swear reading some of the posts here just boils my blood. People who want's everything in life easier or accepts medicority just pisses me off.

Here we have one of the few devs out there who didn't make a game for the mindless sheep out there who hates a challenge. And people are still bitching like little girls?

Here's how to make a great game, make the normal difficulty a real challenge, and if you can't accept that then offer the player a "fallout 3 mode" instead, as in it's downright holding your hand throughtout the entire game. And if you're really stupid you can let ubisoft design your game with "PANTHER MODE", then you only need to press one button in order to play, jAY!!!!

Games like Demons Souls, Ninja Gaiden 1-2 (beaten both games on master ninja) and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. just makes me happy, fair challenges, ergo a great experience.

I'm having a blast with witcher 2 on hard, normal is unplayable for me, as in it's too easy.

Thanks to companies like ubisoft (used to be good) and betsheda it's hard to find games which offers a good challenge nowdays.
What kind of horse do you ride? I can't even see your face from down here!

Protip: People are going to complain about anything, on any game, no matter what. Forums are dangerous. Try not to rage out and look like a fool.

It's a fact that this game is at least mildly difficult at the start of it - for most people apparently. There are a lot of reasons for that, whether it be pacing, or laziness with the tutorials, or not wanting to use signs/items.
Ignore greenfish. He's posted many other inflammatory posts which don't even have the merit of being articulated.

What's your problem?

Are you mad I created a thread where i'm having terrible performance and somehow it's beyond your mind?

Show me my other "inflammatory" posts

ParaB: @Illunder: the problem is that The Witcher 2 is clearly an action-RPG. As such there's indeed a heavy emphasis on fighting. And I understand that this can be quite a bit frustrating. But this is IMO not the game's problem but a problem of your expectation.

Hope you still enjoy the game.
Oh no problem there, I played and loved TW1 so I knew what to expect and even expected to be frustrated in parts, just wish that the old group style or a version of it made its way into TW2.

So many fights are versus multiple opponents yet the system seems to be only designed for 1v1 combat as shown by the lack of damage to anything you do "hit" in the process of fighting the actual targeted enemy.
im not here to say the combat is bad, im here to see how it can be improved to make it more fun, and work better without it getting too easy.

the way i see it, block should not use vigour but countering should(or maybe its own thing).

there should be a few more acrobatic moves, or even acrobatic attacks. the latter being unnecessary

potions should last a little longer. in 1 they last upwards to 7 hours game-time. now they hardly last. might get though a few enemies but in the end you will continue to chug those potions how it is.

maybe a better way to choose your targets then having to swing your camera.

powering up a few attacks at the risk of being hit would be nice too. especially Temerian Devil (strong). maybe not for the Fiery dancer(fast).

bring back the Viroledan Naev'de Feaine Glaeddyv (group style) it feels like they only removed this due to 2 mouse buttons.

theres prob more then can be added that wont make the game too easy but still raising its fun
Has anybody figured out exactly what the differences between the difficulty settings are? Is it enemy AI and aggression that is upped? On hard do enemies have more HP or do more damage?

Your tone and attitude merit no sympathy or help whatsoever. You came here on your high horse, claiming your average gaming laptop should be running this game on Ultra. We tried to help you, not once did you thank people for trying to help you, you simply continued on with the flaming and from reading some of your other posts, you appear to live under the mistaken delusion that you are superior to others. If you don't think that way, perhaps you hire a private tutor to help you improve on your articulation, because this is what oozes through your words.

Besides, your constant falling back to insults has demonstrated more than once already that you are probably a self entitled teenager who thinks everything is owed to him or her. You can't be civil, you can't articulate an idea or a question in a tactful, respectful manner and you aren't courteous either.

Simply put, you're not worth my or anyone else's time in my opinion.

Wow, you seem to have a few personal issues.

First of all I never claimed my laptop would run "ultra", never. I said it was on "minimum" specs. Also I did thank you 3 times in both threads and everyone else who tried to help me.

Not only did you lie but you also insulted me a couple of times for no apparent reason.

Who's the child?

You seem like a guy who thinks internet cred is very important (hence why you seem to belive others agree with your point)

Here's the thread I made guys: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/you_gotta_be_fckng_kidding_me_the_fps_drops_are_getting_ridiculous

Not only did I thank tigerlord 2 times but everyone else who helped me.

Pay close attention to where I mention my laptop as fitting MINIMUM recomendations, yet tigerlord said "ultra".

Maybe you should hire a "shrink" because it's not normal to write a wall of text of someone crying just because you for some odd reason belives I didn't thank you enough.

Group attacks are part of the sword skill tree you can get 50% and 100% vs additional enemies.

Ah that's good to know though it seems a rather odd way of doing things, it's not like multiple opponents are the sole preserve of the latter parts of the game.

Saying that though I think I'll just have to grin and bear it, there's a chance I'll have my eureka moment and everything will click into place and at that point I'll quite happily admit to being wrong. :P
Still loving it.Give it a chance guys and practice on a harder level then your comfortable. This fight engine to me screams Star Wars.Would love to see a Star Wars game with this engine.;)
An actual tutorial would have helped immensely.
You have a game manual, there's game tips inside the game, you can ask for help on gog and hopefully you can use their main forum soon....

People it's not that hard...
Irrelevant. Even bad games tend to come with tutorials. This is a good one and I've learned enough already, but I'm an experienced gamer and not Joe Customer. Joe Customer isn't even finding his way here. Woe to him for that? Not good business.

Speaking of in-game hints. I just had one flash by in less than a second mid-combat. I wonder what it was about...

The manual is a dictionary not instructional, tips jump off the screen and you have to figure out which tip you just missed, Gog so far as redundant threads of minor/major problems everyone rehashes mostly.

I tried normal and its tuff especially for the prologue which I just finished. Tried Easy and that's a cinch..they could have softened the blow a bit in the beginning!! Yea combat is good it was just too big of mobs to start out,

For those that relied on the old Witcher and the way pots were used I'm kinda stingy with them now and they only last a short time how dumb is that?? If the duration is so short they could have been used like most other RPG's while in battle, what fun is dying then a re-do with a pot running as a strategy....fail!! SO I agrre with th OP.

cmfreak: Well it is an RPG game and not an action game...
Its RPGish just because they categorize it in the description doesn't make it so!!
