I have decended the well in the prologue got to the tower but can't go no further because of locked door or am I looking in the wrong direction? help plz ta everso Mardaneus65
If the thread poster is asking about if the aiming of the balista (the scene where Foltest throw the telescope to Geralt and asking him how high to aim), i managed to hit it with 1 and half degrees. Anything beyond this will not hit.

Micon: I have a Razer Abyssus mouse, I bought it for mass effect1 but I rarely change the settings it on 1000hz & 450 dpi
So I take it that you were able to get past the ballista part? Note that you only need to lower resolution / tweak mouse sensitivity if you can't fill up the bar no matter how quickly you click LMB. If you don't have such a problem, I say don't worry about it.

Ow dude... No offense but i don't think you'll do well in further game unless what you are experiencing is a bug. You have to open the monastery's gates to the king as he ordered and to do this you must eliminate the guys in the courtyard, one will drop a key(containers with quest related items in glow a lot), you'll go in the room you entered before, open a locked door and button mash the winch. You really should read the dialogues and tutorials instead of skipping them, that, if you are skipping ofcourse.

Yes i did and sort of used another finger to get as many clicks/sec/sec as i could manage.
i have made it to a fistfight after the arrows into butterflys, ha great effects ala mass effect,
Keep getting creamed here though , I expect it is just a matter of getting used to the keys and largely how quick at using 2 buttons together, ,,,,,,I dont mind puzzles but being on a timer that you must complete to progress '''''''''well lets just say I do not like having to concentrate that hard on staying alive, I am playing for simple enjoyment of the story.
Do you lose all the orens you collect in the prologue and all the herbs etc as I know they were swiped but when checked in the next town I had quite a few, If you searched allover there is a lot to collect and it should not be a waste of time.

You are doing it wrong. The fights rely always on w, a, s and d. W appears at the top of the scree, s at the bottom, etc. There is usually about one second of delay between different keys, so if you quickly press two buttons after each other you will get "creamed".
Only do exactly what the screen tells you to do. Button mashing is not a good idea in any game...

You loose nothing. After you sailed out of LaValette castle, all your items were restored to you.

Thanks for the heads up K-Murx, I have wondered as I have been hanged 6 times.
good that you are not penalised for searching every where, So much to do .
Very early on after you leave the tent and Triss you go down to the left of the amulet advice and the popup says use Z a place of power. Is this a level up spot somewhere here before you meet the King? If so I am missing it and could be why I find so hard.

Micon:
That "press z for activate" places are temporary bonuses to Geralt, you can find a lot of them in each chapter and easy to find since if you run close to them they make a unique sound or if you use your medallion when they are in medallion's range you can see them.

One more thing, please don't write in to the quotes, people may have a hard time understanding which part is the one you write and which part is the original quote.
I should select new post, yes I see .
I probably should start new topic that fistfight sequence I have reached with a new char and once I beat the soldier then got creamed, I see what I have to do but I am not quick enoough and I am giving up . I am tired and jaded, and some shuteye may change my resolve.
