Hating on CDP for having no forums at launch is silly when they've already released several patches for the game in such a short time. It's clear that they care about their customers, and I'm sure they have their reasons for taking down the forums (they mentioned something about technical difficulties a while ago.)

Besides, you can already get more than enough help on this forum. So what's your problem exactly? Did they promise you on the gamebox that they would have a running forum on launch day? No

Mabelrode: I hate to bother you but are you guys aware of the performance issues people using 3D Vision are seeing in some parts of the game when playing in 3D? Specifically, certain indoor areas like the tavern in Flotsam and the prison escape from the prologue we are seeing frame rates drop sometimes into the single digits. Here is a thread at the official Nvidia forum for reference. Without an official forum there is no real way to get feedback to you guys. The latest Nvidia drivers did nothing to fix this issue and I am hoping someone is at least aware of this and working on it. Great game by the way!

Is the game advertised as a 3d capable game?? If it is I'll invest a 3d monitor.. I know that its not recommended for AoC and that has some pretty good graphics and is a dx10 game!!

I always used the older nvidia drivers 266.58 (GTX570) and never had any issues.

eisberg77: I don't believe this CDP_RED_Team guy is really from CDP Red. Looks like to me just some guy who created an account name and pretending to be them. There would be more of an official designation that would separate them from the normal users.
He actually is from CDP RED ;)
I cannot do anything more official, because we would have to add him as GOG.com team member, but perhaps we will think about something later.

You have to trust me (and him).

Good enough for today?:)

Yes, ma'am.

I was convinced when he refrained from engaging in any pissing matches.

goopit: I think they really are hiding from their fans

you know how vocal PC gamers can be (seriously annoying)

I think they were kinda cramming the game in 2009 they finished the engine (I think) and only had two years to really work on it but I'm not really sure. I think they're hiding from their fans knowing that they made too short a game
Ahahahahahha. That really cracked me up, thanks.

On-topic: I really like this game. Even if it's not perfect, and even if it has some bugs (what game doesn't at launch, nowadays?), you have to appreciate the fact that it's a pretty big effort from a relatively small company. So technical problems are, unfortunately, not that surprising.

In my experience, the support from the developers has been pretty good. They've released two patches to fix the majority of bugs (and as a programmer, let me tell you, creating and testing a patch is a b*tch) and are working on the third. They've gone and made all DLC free and available. But most of all, they're actually listening to the community and improving the game in the process.

Give it time, and all the problems will be fixed. You can't rush the process, no matter how much you complain on the forums or bash the developers. In my life as a gamer, I've seen a lot of companies do worse (see Creative Assemblies for reference).
Though I agree they could've done better too, the best thing to do here is to have patience.
Does everyone simply need something to bitch about?

Here we have an incredibly detailed game, full of interesting and vibrant things to do. It's been incredibly well-received by media and players alike.

Major issues that some had at the beginning were resolved very quickly through patches. For the most part - this game is playing exactly like it was intended - and it is impressing the heck out of the players.

CDP-Red have done a great job. The "official forum" duties are being taken care quite capably right here at GOG.com

Why are people complaining? Save your breath. Play the game. Have a beer. Enjoy. Smile. It's a great story.

If you have a specific issue, you'll get help here. Enjoy.

Yea, ppl always need to bitch about something, it's quite normal...
CDPR is the best developer in terms of support , IMO.
Name ONE studio that cares as much about customer as they do.
All that DLC-free stuff, 1 patch a week, lowering price of the game and so on...

ah, thanks for backing them up. Perhaps put a sticky announcement stating they are legit, I think that would be very helpful.
