So, I'm tempted to give the 1.1 patch a try to see if I get a performance boost.

However, I really enjoy playing the game with a control pad and, if I find the lack of analogue sticks too unsettling, it'd be nice to be able to revert back to the 1.0 version if needs be.

Can I do this by uninstalling the game? Or will reinstalling from GOG.com always patch me back to the latest version regardless so I can't decline the patch?

My performance is reasonably fine at the moment so it's probably not worth the risk but I'd just like to know for curiosity's sake!

Reinstalling GOG edition will bring you back to v 1.0

Retail I think you will always get v1.1

So you're not forced to use the patcher to update fully if you reinstall the GOG?
GOG works offline, so the original files you downloaded still works even if they release 100 patches
I'm pretty sure reinstalling will always updated to 1.1, since the patcher will auto run during the installation I believe.

EDIT: Oh, I guess if you run the installer with your cable unplugged it won't force you to install.

Didnt know it autorun, but unplugging should help, yes.
I am using the Xbox360 and all functions of the controller work in the game after the patch. Is it only non Xbox360 pads that lost analog stick functions? In fact after the patch, all the functions seem to be more responsive, especially in the attributes menu where I had to use WASD in v1.0 to navigate through that, but now I can use the Xbox360 to navigate it after patch 1.1.
