I cant register my game, because i dont have any account yet, and i cant create a new one, any other way or news about it?

Thanks in advance :)
I would really like to know too. It's the 17th here, and has been for several hours (its 22:75 now) and i have been wanting to play this game all day.

But like you i have not ben able to make an account, as their server isn't responding. And going to their web site to make an account won't do you any good either, as the "Register" button is grayed out.
Same problem here.
Did you try launching the game and selecting "Register game" from the launcher menu?

It will have an option to make an account. You'll have to make a new account (if you haven't done so already), because the old Witcher Forum accounts haven't been restored.

(If you get into the register dialog and what you type doesn't show up, go into your Windows display settings and change screen fonts to 100%.)
I can't register the game whether I try logging in w/ an old account or w/ a new account.
The main website appears to be offline at the moment, perhaps CDPR is doing some technical work on the system...

question on registering game. is it needed?

i thougth from gog the game was drm free, so whats the need to register besides wanting to download dlc at some point?
I'm experiencing the same issues, and am very unhappy atm. Part of the big selling point for me was the fact that I could download this and have it ready to play on day 1, with the added bonus of no form of DRM. Yet when I try to play I am told to "use the launcher to register the game" and when I try to register I am told that "a connection with the server could not be established.

If you want patches, free DLC, and any other extra content - registering is a must, pretty much.
Is this why the TW2 Launcher has asked me for my activation key several times in a row now? I enter the key correctly, the launcher says "Checking for available updates", and then terminates. Rinse and repeat.

Apparently if you want to play period then registering is a must, with the added bonus that its not even working atm. /sigh

Registration is completely optional, so you can play without.

I'll confess I've been to busy working to try installing and running the game; why do you say registration is a must? Is it impossible to bypass the registration?

I stand corrected, although It was looking to me as if it was mandatory considering the errors I was being given when trying to run the game. However just now I manually ran the patcher.exe in my witcher 2 folder and after it patched I am able to play without registering, etc. Hopefully that helps someone else who just wants to play a bit considering the ability to register, etc, is down atm.

djnforce9: Yup, I can't register either. I too get the "Connection Error". If you go to the Witcher's homepage (which was actually down until a few minutes ago), you will notice the login and register buttons greyed out too. If they are doing site maintenance, they sure picked a lousy time to do so.

So yeah, I can either play not or just wait until later when I can get the DLC. I didn't think this would be an issue at all.
This was just posted to the official website:

"Dear Fans!

We ask for a little bit of your patience while we make some adjustments and optimizations to the servers hosting The Witcher 2.

Planned time of the downtime: 23:30
Planned downtime: 40 minutes

Problems that may occur:
- new users won't be able to register the game
- users won't be able to download the DLCs (lang packs, patch, addons)

Affected:
- all users

We apologize you for any inconvenience and will do our best to bring back the services working ASAP. UPDATE - 00:16CET: We are currently moving over 1 million files to the new folders structure on the server which will speed up the filesystem a little bit. This takes longer than anticipated but we are working hard. BTW USA, how's the weather?"
crossovertm, I see that you are from Spain. Did you put the text on the game in spanish? because I did that and I couldn´t log in using the launcher, or create any new account at all (even the option of recovering my previously forgotten password of my thewitcher.com account wasn´t functioning for me). I´m saying all this because I´m from Argentina, and a fellow spanish friend from this forum told me to put the text in game (and launcher too, obviously) in english and try to registar after that (later you can change to spanish text again if you want). It worked for him and also worked for me! but I just couldn´t download the DLC of the Troll yet :(, looks like everything is down. But you can try that and see if it helps!
